Տոկիոյի նահանգապետ Յոիտի Մասուձոեն, որն սկանդալի կենտրոնում Է հայտնվել քաղաքական հիմնադրամների միջոցների օգտագործման պատճառով, պաշտոնաթողություն Է խնդրել՝ չսպասելով Ճապոնիայի մայրաքաղաքի պրեֆեկտուրայի օրենսդիր ժողովում անվստահության քվե հայտնելուն: Այս մասին հայտնել Է NHK հեռուստաալիքը:
Ինչպես սպասվում Է, Մասուձոեն իր պաշտոնից կհեռանա հունիսի 21-ին: Այդ պահից ի վեր 50 օրվա ընթացքում պետք Է տեղի ունենան մայրաքաղաքի պրեֆեկտուրայի նոր ղեկավարի ընտրությունները:
Տոկիոյի նահանգապետին մեղադրում են առաջին հերթին իր քաղաքական հիմնադրամների ոչ նպատակային օգագործման մեջ, որոնք ստեղծվել են կողմնակիցների նվիրատվությունների հիման վրա: Դրանց միջոցներն, ինչպես պարզվել Է, նա ծախսել Է անձնական նպատակներով, այդ թվում՝ ռեստորաններում, որտեղ նա ճաշել Է ընտանիքի հետ, անձնական ուղեւորությունների ժամանակ հյուրանոցների համարների հաշիվների վճարման եւ զանազան ապրանքների՝ գրքերից մինչեւ մետաքսե վերնաշապիկներ, գնման համար:
Նրան նաեւ դատապարտում են ծառայական ավտոմեքենայով ամառանոց հեռավոր ուղեւորությունների եւ չափազանց հաճախակի արտասահմանյան գործուղումների համար, որոնց ժամանակ նա իբր պարբերաբար խախտել Է հյուրանոցներում համարների ծախսերի առավելագույն նորմաները, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
