Արձանների թեման վերջին շաբաթներին մեծ հնչեղություն էր ստացել: Հազիվ էին մեղմացել Գարեգին Նժդեհի արձանի շուրջ խոսակցությունները, Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարարության ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովան իր հայտարարությամբ «նոր շունչ» հաղորդեց դրանց՝ քննարկումները տանելով այլ ուղղությամբ:

Past.am-ի հետ զրույցում երգչուհի-երգահան Լիլիթ Պիպոյանը նշեց, որ Ռուսաստանը չափազանց շատ է անդրադառնում ֆաշիզմի հետ կապված հարցերին, օրինակ՝ Ուկրաինայում և այլուր:

Ըստ տիկին Պիպոյանի՝ Ռուսաստանը վախվորած է Հայաստանում տրամադրությունների փոփոխություններից, հատկապես քառօրյա պատերազմից հետո: Նրա խոսքով՝ հենց այս պատճառով ընկալումները չափազանցված են:

«Նրանց արձագանքի երկրորդ պատճառը, իմ կարծիքով, հենց արձանից է գալիս: Արձանն այնպես է քանդակված, որ ընդգծված է Նժդեհի ուժը , մոնումենտալությունը չափազանցված է: Կոպտությունն է վախեցրել»,- շեշտեց Լ.Պիպոյանը:

Այն հարցին, թե ինչո՞ւ են մեր փոխարեն որոշում՝ ինչ արձան դնենք մեր մայրաքաղաքի սրտում, Պիպոյանն ասաց, որ դա նրանց գործը չէ: Ենթարկելով արձանն արվեստաբանական վերլուծության՝ մեր զրուցակիցը հետևյալ կարծիքն արտահայտեց. «Բոլոր առումներով շատ սխալ արձան է: Մասշտաբներն են սխալ, իր քառակուսիությունն է սխալ: Այն ունի քառակուսի, սեղանաձև, անշարժ ուրվագիծ:

Իր հերոսականությունը պետք է ավելի շարժուն ձևով ընդգծվեր: Ֆիգուրը կանգնած է քարի վրա, հետևից թիկնոցը կախվում է ներքև, ցած է իջնում քարով: Քարի գույնն էլ չի տարբերվում ֆիգուրի գույնից: Քեզ թվում է, թե թիկնոցը երկար է, քարն էլ ձուլվում է մարմնի հետ: Համաչափությունը խախտված է: Մոտ ես գալիս, նոր ես զգում, որ այն քարի վրա է: Դա շատ սխալ է»:

Արվեստագետը համակարծիք է տարածված տեսակետին, թե արձանը նման է Ռուսաստանի ցար Պետրոս 1-ին:
