ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Ստոլտենբերգը պնդում Է, որ Ռուսաստանը մեծացնում Է ռազմական ներուժը եւ դրա օգնությամբ ձգտում Է ստեղծել իր ազդեցության գոտին: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, համապատասխան հայտարարությունը նա արել Է հունիսի 16-ին Bild թերթում հրապարակված հարցազրույցում:

«Ռուսաստանը փորձում Է ռազմական միջոցներով իր ազդեցության գոտին ստեղծել: Մենք ռազմական ներուժի ընդգրկուն ավելացում ենք տեսնում ՆԱՏՕ-ի սահմանում՝ Արկտիկայում, Բալթիկ ծովի տարածաշրջանում, Սեւ ծովից մինչեւ Միջերկրական ծով ընկած տարածքում:-ասել Է Ստոլտենբերգը:-Եվ մենք ռուսական կողմից վաղօրոք չհայտարարված ագրեսիվ խոշոր զորավարժություններ ենք արձանագրում: Դրան մենք հարկադրված ենք հակազդել»:

Դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղարը կարծում Է, որ ուժի դրսեւորումը եւ բանակցություններ վարելու պատրաստակամությունը «լավագույն պայմանն Է Ռուսաստանի հետ երկխոսելու համար»: «Պարզ Է, որ մենք առճակատում եւ նոր սառը պատերազմ չենք ցանկանում Ռուսաստանի հետ»,-հավաստիացրել Է նա:

«Այն, ինչ մենք անում ենք, պաշտպանողական բնույթ Է կրում»,- հավելել Է Ստոլտենբերգը: «Զորքերի տեղաբաշխումն արեւելքում համարժեք արձագանքն Է Ռուսաստանի ագրեսիվ գործողություններին»,- հայտարարել Է նա:

Միաժամանակ Ստոլտենբերգը նշել Է, որ կիբեռգրոհը նույնպես «կարող Է գնահատվել որպես հարձակում դաշինքի անդամներից մեկի վրա», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
