Սիցիլիայի արեւմուտքում արտակարգ դրություն Է ստեղծվել անտառային սաստիկ հրդեհների հետեւանքով, որոնք վերջին երեք օրերին ընդգրկել են հարավիտալական այս մարզի զգալի մասը:
RaiNews 24 լրատվական հեռուստաալիքի տեղեկատվության համաձայն՝ վերջին մեկ օրվա ընթացքում հրշեջներն զբաղված Էին բռնկման մոտավորապես 500 օջախների մարմամբ, սակայն կղզու շատ շրջաններում, նախեւառաջ Պալերմոյի նահանգում, կրակի դեմ պայքարը շարունակվում Է մինչ այժմ: Ներկայում մարզի արեւմուտքում գրանցվել են 36 խոշոր հրդեհներ:
«Կղզին այրվում Է: Սիցիլիան արթնացել Է կրակի մեջ»,-այս վերնագրերով Է հունիսի 17-ին լույս տեսել տեղի Giornale di Sicilia թերթը: Հրատարակության տվյալներով՝ անցած ամբողջ գիշեր հրդեհների մարմամբ Էին զբաղված տասնյակ հրշեջ հաշվարկներ, որոնց աջակցել են Քաղաքացիական պաշտպանության ծառայության ստորաբաժանումներն ու հատուկ տեխնիկայով սարքավորված Canadair վեց ինքնաթիռներ: Հունիսի 17-ին Պալերմոյի պրեֆեկտուրայում Իտալիայի ՆԳ նախարար Անջելինո Ալֆանոյի նախագահությամբ կկայանա հատուկ նիստ՝ նվիրված Սիցիլիայում ստեղծված արտակարգ դրությանը:
Կղզուց ստացված տեղեկատվության համաձայն՝ ավելի քան քսան մարդ հունիսի 16-ին հիվանդանոց Է տեղափոխվել հրդեհների հետեւանքով թունավորումների եւ այրվածքներ ստանալու պատճառով: Շուրջ 50 երեխաներ, որոնք թունավորվել Էին ծխից, Մոնրեալ քաղաքի հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել այն բանից հետո, երբ կրակը գրեթե հասել Էր մանկապարտեզի շենքին:
Սաստիկ հրդեհներն առաջացել են անոմալ տապի հետեւանքով, որը Սիցիլիայում հաստատվել Էր շաբաթվա կեսերին. Սիցիլիայի արեւմտյան շրջաններում ջերմաստիճանը հունիսի 16-ին գերազանցել Է 46 աստիճանը, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
