Ապրիլյան իրադարձություններից անմիջապես հետո արցախյան հասարակությունը կարծես թե շատ բան էր հասկացել ու փորձում էր վերաիմաստավորել իր կյանքը: Մարդիկ սկսել էին կարևոր հարցադրումներ կատարել, որոնք մինչ այդ չէին կատարում: Այնպիսի տպավորություն կար, որ Նույնիսկ քրոնիկ իշխանապաշտությամբ տառապող անձինք էին որոշել օգտագործել իրենց գանգուղեղների պարունակությունը: Մի շարք պաշտոնյաներ էլ էին բավականին ադեկվատ դարձել` ցուցաբերելով սկզբունքայնության ու պատասխանատվության որոշակի նշույլներ: Ադեկվատություն էր երևում նույնիսկ ամենաանադեկվատ գործիչների մոտ:
Բայց հենց իրավիճակը առաջնագծում մի քիչ հանդարտվեց, ու հարաբերական անդորրի պատրանք ստեղծվեց, կրկին նույն ճահիճը վերադարձանք: Ապրիլյան իրադարձությունները մեզ համար փոխվելու իրական հնարավորություններ էին ստեղծել: Սակայն այդ հնարավորությունները օգտագործելու փոխարեն մենք քաղաքական, պետական ու գոյաբանական այնպիսի ճգնաժամի մեջ ընկանք, որից ես որևէ ելք դեռևս չեմ տեսնում:
