ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսականները կոչ են անում ԱՄՆ-ին հետեւել Հռոմի պապի օրինակին ու ճանաչել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը

Կոնգրեսականներ Դեւիդ Վալադաոն (R-CA) եւ Ջիմ Քոստան (D-CA) ողջունել էր Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսի Հայաստան կատարելիք այցը՝ շեշտելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հուշահամալիր նրա այցի կարեւորագույն գլոբալ նշանակությունը, հայտնում է Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախումբը:

Հռոմի պապի հայաստանյան այցի նախօրեին հրապարակված հայտարարության մեջ Քոստան Հռոմի պապին անվանել է «Կաթոլիկ աշխարհի բարոյական կողմնացույց» ու նշել որ «հենց այդ բարոյական հիմքով է Նորին մեծությունը իրավամբ ճանաչել Հայաստանը որպես քրիստոնեություն ընդունած առաջին պետություն եւ բարձրաձայնել մեր ժամանակների բարոյական մարտահրավերների մասին: Հռոմի պապի Հայաստան այցը եւս մեկ ապացույց է հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ նրա սրտացավ վերաբերմունքի մասին»: Անդրադառնալով 2015-ին՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տարելիցին Հռոմի պապի ելույթին, որով նա Ցեղասպանություն կոչեց 1915-ին կատարված ողբերգությունը, կոնգրեսական Քոսթան կոչ է անում, որ «Նախագահն ու Կոնգրեսը հետեւեն Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիկոսի օրինակին ու վերջապես ճանաչեն Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»:

Կոնգրեսական Վալադաոն, որը «Հայոց ցեղասպանություն. Ճշմարտություն + արդարություն»( H.Res.154) բանաձեւի առաջատար հովանավորներից է՝ դեմոկրատ Ադամ Շիֆի, Ֆրանկ Փալոնի (D-NJ) ու Ռոբերտ Դոլդի (R-Il) հետ միասին, ողջունել է Հոռմի պապի որոշումը՝ այցելել Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հուշահամալիր «Կարեւոր է, որ աշխարհի առաջնորդները շարունակեն ուշադրություն դարձնել Հայոց ցեղասպանության սարսափելի իրադարձություններին, որոնք կատարվել են 100 տարի առաջ»,- բացատրել է Վալադոն: «Մինչ մենք շարունակում ենք աշխատել Ցեղասպանության ճանաչման մասին H.Res. 154 բանաձեւի վրա, ես հույս ունեմ, որ Հռոմի պապի այցը ու հարգանքի մատուցումը զոհերի հիշատակին խաղաղություն ու սփոփանք կբերի հայկական համայնքին»

Ամերիկայի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի Քալիֆորնիայի կենտրոնական գրասենյակից Փոլ Ջամուշյանը ողջունել է այս հայտարարությունը՝ նշելով «Հայ դատի Քալիֆորնիայի կենտրոնական գրասենյակը միանում է աշխարհասփյուռ հայերին եւ շնորհակալություն հայտնում կոնգրեսականներ Վալադաոյին ու Քոսթային՝ որոնք իրենց ազդեցիկ ձայնն են բարձրացնում՝ սեփական կառավարությանը կոչ անելով հետեւել Հռոմի պապի բարոյական օրինակին՝ մարտահրավեր նետել Թուրքիայի կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ ճշմարտության ու արդարության ժխտողականությանը»:

Ամերիկահայերը այս հանգստյան օրերին ուշադիր հետեւելու են Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսի պատմական այցին Հայաստան՝ ոգեշնչված անցած տարի Հայոց ցեղասպանության 100-րդ տալիլիցի ժամանակ նրա բարոյական քաջությամբ ու հույս ունենալով, որ այդ քաջությունը կոգեշնչի նաեւ ԱՄՆ նախագահին ու Կոնգրեսին՝ վերջ տալ Ցեղապանության ժխտման հարցում Թուրքիային իրենց հանցակցությանը:
