Հունիսի 26-ը ՀՀ զինված ուժերի տոնացույցում նշվում է որպես ռազմաավիացիոն ուժերի օր:
Ռազմական ավիացիան ազգային բանակի կազմում ստեղծված առաջին զորատեսակներից է։ Այս տարի լրանում է զորատեսակի կազմավորման 24-րդ տարեդարձը:
ՀՀ ԶՈւ ռազմաօդային ստորաբաժանումները կազմավորվել են հայրենիքի սահմաններում ընթացող պաշտպանական մարտական գործողություններին զուգընթաց` պետության և Ազգային բանակի համար բեկումնային ժամանակահատվածում:
1992թ. հունվարից նորաստեղծ ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության կազմում ստեղծվել է Ավիացիայի և ՀՕՊ զորքերի համատեղ վարչությունը: 1992թ.-ին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի հրամանով ավիացիայի վարչությունն առանձնացվել է ՀՕՊ-ի վարչությունից և դարձել առանձին կառույց, ստեղծվել են առանձին ավիացիոն զորամասեր և ստորաբաժանումներ: Հետագա տարիներին` բանակաշինության փուլերին զուգընթաց, իրականացվել են ՀՀ ԶՈւ ռազմաօդային ուժերի զարգացման ու կատարելագործման բազմաբնույթ ծրագրեր, որոնց շնորհիվ էլ ներկայումս զինված ուժերի ավիացիայի վարչությունն իր ենթակա ստորաբաժանումների միջոցով առաջադրված խնդիրներն իրականացնում է հաջողությամբ ու իրենից ներկայացնում է կայացած ու ներդաշնակ մի կառույց:
Այսօր արդեն ՀՀ զինված ուժերում պատրաստվում են հմուտ և փորձառու օդաչուներ: 1992-ին Պաշտպանության նախարարությանը փոխանցված ԴՕՍԱԱՖ-ի աերոակումբի և «Արզնի» օդանավակայանի վերակազմավորման միջոցով 1993թ.-ի ապրիլին հիմնվել է ՀՀ առաջին ռազմաուսումնական հաստատությունը՝ ավիացիոն ուսումնական կենտրոնը: 1994-ին ուսումնական կենտրոնը տեղափոխվեց իր ներկայիս տեղակայման վայր և 2001-ին ուսումնարանի հիմքի վրա ստեղծվեց ռազմաավիացիոն ինստիտուտը: 2005թ.-ին, ի նշանավորումն Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմում տարած հաղթանակի 60-ամյակի, ինստիտուտը պաշտպանության նախարարի հրամանով անվանակոչվեց մարշալ Արմենակ Խանփերյանցի անվամբ: Առկա ուսումնամեթոդական և լաբորատոր բազան հնարավորություն տվեց բացի ավիատորներից պատրաստել նաև կապի և ՀՕՊ մասնագետներ: 2016թ.-ին ռազմաուսումնական հաստատությունը ստացավ համալսարանի կարգավիճակ:
Ռազմական օդաչուներն այսօր կատարում են ամենատարբեր առաջադրանքներ` ՀՕՊ ստուգողական թռիչքներ, ամենաբարդ եղանակային պայմաններում զինծառայողների տեղափոխում հոսպիտալներ, ընդգրկվում են մարտական կրակով անցկացվող զորավարժություններում:
ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ռազմաօդային ուժերի մասնագետները մշտապես հաջողությամբ համագործակցում և վերապատրաստվում են Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի կազմակերպության, Հավաքական անվտանգության պայմանագրի կազմակերպության և այլ կազմակերպությունների հետ համատեղ ծրագրերի և զորավարժությունների շրջանակներում։
ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ռազմաօդային ուժերի մարտունակ ստորաբաժանումները հարկ եղած դեպքում իրենց ծանրակշիռ ներդրումը կունենան երկրի պաշտպանության և անվտանգության ապահովման գործում:
