Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ՆԳ նախարար Թերեզա Մեյը եւ Լոնդոնի նախկին քաղաքագլուխ Բորիս Ջոնսոնը կպայքարեն Պահպանողական կուսակցության առաջնորդի պաշտոնի համար, որն այժմ զբաղեցնում Է իր պաշտոնաթողության մասին հայտարարած վարչապետ Դեւիդ Քեմերոնը: Այդ մասին հունիսի 26-ին հայտնել Է The Telegraph-ը:
Հրատարակության տվյալներով՝ այս շաբաթ նախարարը հանդես կգա ճառով, որում կհայտարարի Ջոնսոնի՝ Brexit-ի հայտնի կողմնակցի դեմ պայքարի մեջ մտնելու մտադրության մասին: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ ներքին գործերի նախարարը, ինչպես նշում Է The Telegraph-ը, արդեն թիմ ունի, որը նրան կօգնի նախընտրական մրցարշավում:
Ջոնսոնն ինքը, ինչպես գրում Է Evening Standard-ը, նույնպես սկսել Է պատրաստվել Պահպանողական կուսակցության առաջնորդ ընտրվելու համար պայքարին: Բացի այդ, Լոնդոնի նախկին քաղաքագլուխը, The Telegraph-ի տեղեկատվության համաձայն, ներկայիս կանցլեր եւ փոխվարչապետ Ջորջ Օսբոռնին առաջարկել Է իր հաղթելու դեպքում նախարարների կաբինետում ընտրություն կատարել կանցլերի եւ արտգործնախարարի պաշտոնների միջեւ:
Հունիսի 24-ին Եվրամիությունից երկրի դուրս գալու հանրաքվեի արդյունքների հայտարարումից հետո Քեմերոնն ասել Է, որ վարչապետի պաշտոնը կթողնի մինչեւ այս տարվա հոկտեմբերը:
Քեմերոնի պաշտոնաթողությունը չի նշանակում, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի կառավարությունը կփոխվի: Մեծ Է հավանականությունը, որ Քեմերոնին փոխարինելու կգա նրա զինակիցը, որին հոկտեմբերին կընտրեն պահպանողականների նոր առաջնորդ (Մեծ Բրիտանիայում խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում հաղթանակ տարած կուսակցության առաջնորդը դառնում Է վարչապետ: Երբ կառավարության ղեկավարն իր պաշտոնից վաղաժամկետ Է հեռանում, ապա պաշտոնը, որպես կանոն, զբաղեցնում Է կուսակցության նորընտիր ղեկավարը):
