Մեզնից յուրաքանչյուրն իր ճաշակով է ընտրում օծանելիքի բույրը:
Դա զուտ անհատական ընտրություն է եւ կարող է շատ բան հուշել մարդու բնավորության գաղտնի դրսեւորումների մասին: Լավ հոտառություն ունենալը եւ բույրերը տարբերելը մեծ տեղեկություն կարող են տալ նաեւ անձնական ներաշխարհի անծանոթ կողմերի վերաբերյալ:

Այսպիսով' պետք է մերժել այն կարծիքը, թե մարդիկ օծանելիք են օգտագործում շրջապատին դուր գալու համար: Մենք նախապատվություն ենք տալիս այն բույրին, որը հոգեհարազատ է հենց մեզ՝ հազարավոր հայտնի ու սիրված բրենդների միջից ընտրելով մեկը: Օծանելիքի բազմատեսակ ընտրանին, որը դեռեւս Հին Եգիպտոսում է սկիզբ առել, բացահայտում է հետեւյալը.

Եթե մարդը նախընտրում է քաղցր, ծաղկային եւ մրգային բույրեր, ու նրան սկզբունքորեն խորթ չէ որեւէ էկզոտիկ մերձարեւադարձային ծաղկի բույրով օծվելը, ապա նա էքստրավերտ է, այսինքն' բաց է շրջապատի համար եւ պատրաստ է կիսվել իր զգացմունքներով: Այս տեսակի օծանելիք են նախընտրում սանգվինիկները՝ կենսուրախ մարդիկ, ովքեր միշտ ձգտում են ուշադրության կենտրոնում հայտնվել, բայց եւ ներքուստ հավասարակշռված են:

Եթե զրուցակիցը նախապատվություն է տալիս թարմ, հանգիստ, ոչ ճչացող բույրերին (հալվե, ծովային զեփյուռ, թարմ խնձոր կամ կիտրոն), ապա նա ինտրավերտ է, այսինքն' շրջապատի նկատմամբ փակ դիրք է գրավել, չի թույլատրում, որ առաջին անգամ հանդիպած մարդը ներթափանցի իր ներաշխարհ ու վստահելի հարաբերություններ կառուցի: Այսպիսի մարդը պատրաստ չէ առաջին քայլը ձեռնարկելուն, անծանոթների հետ շփվում է մեծ զգուշավորությամբ: Այսպիսի բույրերը բնորոշ են ֆլեգմատիկներին ու մելանխոլիկներին, ովքեր ունեն հանգիստ, հավասարակշռված, ոչ էմոցիոնալ բնույթ:

Եթե մարդը վառ, հագեցած ու պայծառ բույրի սիրահար է, ապա սուր պակասն ունի այն բանի, որ իրեն նկատեն շրջապատող մարդիկ, եւ փորձում է ամեն կերպ առանձնանալ ամբոխից, այդ թվում' նաեւ սուր եւ փոքր-ինչ վանող օծանելիքի միջոցով: Այսօրինակ ընտրությունը բնորոշ է խոլերիկներին, ովքեր հաճախ էմոցիոնալ անկումներ են ունենում, բայց միաժամանակ հեշտ են շփվում ու ծանոթություններ ձեռք բերում:
