Երեկ՝ օգոստոսի 16-ին, խոշոր ու շղթայական ավտովթար է տեղի ունեցել Կոտայքի մարզում: Ժամը 22:30-ի սահմաններում Երևան-Սևան ավտոճանապարհի Աբովյանի Ճանապարհային ոստիկանության հենակետի մոտ բախվել են Երևան քաղաքի Արշակունյաց պողոտայի 6-րդ շենքի բնակիչ, 28-ամյա Գիորգի Ագաջանյանի վարած BMW մակնիշի 26 ՍԼ 032 համարանիշի, Երևան քաղաքի Ավան 17 շենքի բնակիչ, 42-ամյա Գագիկ Եղոյանի վարած Volkswagen մակնիշի 35 ՍD 113 համարանիշի, Տավուշի մարզի Աչաջուր գյուղի բնակիչ, 52-ամյա Աշոտ Գալստյանի վարած Opel մակնիշի 34 ՏA 358 համարանիշի և Երևան քաղաքի Րաֆֆու փողոցի բնակիչ, 28-ամյա Մարիամ Քալանթարյանի վարած Nissan մակնիշի 34 DV 192 համարանիշի ավտոմեքենաները:
Ինչպես վթարի վայրից հայտնում է shamshyan.com-ը, վթարի հետևանքով Nissan-ի վարորդ Մ. Քալանթարյանը «գանգուղեղային փակ տրավմա, գլխուղեղի ցնցում՝ հարցականով, ճակատի աջ կեսի սալջարդ, աջ բազկի և նախաբազկի փափուկ հյուսվածքների սալջարդ, քթի սալջարդ» ախտորոշմամբ տեղափոխվել է Աբովյանի բժշկական կենտրոն:
Ֆոտոլրագրողը հայտնում է, որ ըստ նախնական տեղեկությունների՝ վթարի մեղավորը եղել է BMW-ի վարորդ Գ. Ագաջանյանը, ով աշխատում է Հայաստանի քննչական կոմիտեում՝ որպես քննիչ: Նա վթարից հետո ավտոմեքենան թողնելով դեպքի վայրում՝ փորձում էր ճողոպրել կիսամերկ վիճակում, սակայն ճանապարհային ոստիկանները ճիշտ կողմնորոշվեցին և նրան բռնեցին, իսկ հետո նրան քննիչի հանձնարարականով տեղափոխեցին բժշկական կենտրոն, որտեղ ենթարկվել է բժշկական փորձաքննության ու պարզվել է, որ նա գտնվում է ոչ սթափ (խմած) վիճակում:
