Ադրբեջանի ծանրամարտի հավաքականը չի մասնակցի Ռիո Դե Ժանեյրոյում կայանալիք օլիմպիական խաղերին: Ծանրամարտի միջազգային ֆեդերացիա' IWF-ն, ավելի վաղ զրկել էր Ադրբեջանի հավաքականին Հյուսթոնում կայացած 2015-ի աշխարհի առաջնությանը վաստակած միավորներից, ինչի արդյունքում տղամարդկանց հավաքականը 16-րդ հորիզոնականից նահանջել է 31-րդ տեղը։ Օլիմպիական վարկանիշ ստանում են լավագույն 24 երկրի ներկայացուցիչները։ Կանանց պայքարում Ռիո մեկնելու են լավագույն 21 երկրի մարզուհիները։
Ադրբեջանի կանանց հավաքականն այդ ցանկում 26-րդն է։ Ադրբեջացիները զրկված են նաև սպիտակ քարտով մասնակցելու իրավունքից, քանի որ, IWF-ի որոշման համաձայն, այն երկրները, որոնց 3 կամ ավելի մարզիկների դոպինգ-փորձանմուշները դրական արդյունք են տվել, չեն մասնակցելու օլիմպիական խաղերին։ Այսպիսով, 1996 թվականից ի վեր առաջին անգամ ծանրամարտի Ադրբեջանի հավաքականը չի մասնակցի օլիմպիական խաղերին։
