Սան Ֆրանցիսկոյի Impossible Foods ընկերությունը հինգ տարվա աշխատանքներից հետո կարողացել է ստեղծել ամբողջովին բուսական հումքով բուրգեր, որն իր համով, հոտով ու արտաքին տեսքով չի տարբերվում մսային կոտլետով ավանդական բուրգերից: Ընկերության հիմնադիր, կենսաքիմիկոս Փաթրիկ Բրաունը իր թիմի առջեւ դրել էր աշխարհը փոխելու նպատակ՝ նվազեցնելով մսի գործածումը:
Դրա համար նա որոշել է չպայքարել մարդկանց նախասիրությունների դեմ, այլ դրա փոխարեն ստեղծել բուրգեր՝ առանց մսի: Դրա համար նա ստիպված է եղել վերլուծել մսային կոտլետի մոլեկուլյար կազմը, որպեսզի պարզի, թե ինչ նյութեր են պատասխանատու համի ու հոտի, նաեւ ախորժալի կարմրության համար: Պարզվել է, որ այդ նյութերը գեմերն են ՝ քիմիական միացություններ, որոնք երկաթ են պարունակում: Մսից բացի նման նյութեր են պարունակում նաեւ ոլոռազգիները: Ինչ վերաբերում է կենդանական ճարպերին, դրանք կարելի է փոխարինել կոկոսի յուղով, որին նաեւ հացահատիկի պրոտեին է հավելված: Ամենաբարդը մսի հոտը վերստեղծելն էր ՝ հեղինակային տեխնոլոգիան գաղտնի է պահվում: Այդ անհավանական բուրգերը խանութներում կհայտնվի մի քանի տարի անց, իսկ մինչ այդ բանակցություններ են ընթանում դրանք ռեստորաններ մատակարարելու մասին, հայտնում է Kedem-ը:
