«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «Armlur.am-ի տեղեկություններով՝ մահացել է Գյումրիի նախկին քաղաքապետ։ Վարդան Ղուկասյանի հարեւաններից մեկը, սակայն վերջինիս հարազատներն ու հաեւանները, այդ թվում Վարդան Ղուկասյանի որդին՝ Սպարտակ Ղուկասյանը, չեն թույլատրել դիակը հերձել՝ պատճառաբանելով, որ քրիստոնյային վայել չէ: Վերջիններս, հակաճառելով ու վիճաբանելով ոստիկանների ու դատաբժիշկների հետ, պաթանատոմիական կենտրոնից դիակը տարել են:
Այնուհետեւ Շիրակի մարզի դատախազ Րաֆֆի Ասլանյանի հանձնարարականով ոստիկանները գնացել ու դիակը տեղափոխել են դիահերձարան:
Ոստիկանության Կումայրիի բաժին են հրավիրել նախկին քաղաքապետի որդուն՝ Սպարտակին, որն ասել է, թե ինքը որպես քրիստոնյա էր դեմ կանգնում դիահերձմանը, այլապես խնդիր չկա:
Այս առնչությամբ Armlur.am-ը զրուցել է Գյումրիի նախկին քաղաքապետ Վարդան Ղուկասյանի հետ, որը, սակայն թեմայի շուրջ որեւէ բան չի ասել:
Այժմ Շիրակի մարզի քննչական վարչությունում հանկարծամահության դեպքով նյութեր են նախապատրաստվում՝ դատաբժշկական փորձաքննության արդյունքում մահվան պատճառները պարզելու համար: Դիակի զննությամբ տեսանելի բռնության հետքեր չեն հայտնաբերվել»:
