Հայաստանն այսօր նշում է Սահմանադրության օրը

Հայաստանում հուլիսի 5-ը նշվում է Սահմանադրության օրը: 1995 թվականի այդ օրը երկրի Հիմնական օրենքի նախագիծը ներկայացվեց համաժողովրդական հանրաքվեի: Այն ժամանակվա ընդդիմությունը հանրաքվեի արդյունքները կեղծված համարեց, սակայն պաշտոնական տվյալներով Սահմանադրությունն ընդունվեց: Դա անկախ Հայաստանի առաջին Սահմանադրությունն էր:
Տասը տարի անց` 2005 թ. նոյեմբերի 27-ին, երկրում կրկին անցկացվեց սահմանադրական հանրաքվե, որի ժամանակ քաղաքացիները հավանության արժանացրեցին գլխավոր փաստաթղթում առկա փոփոխությունները: Այդ փոփոխություններով ընդլայնվեցին խորհրդարանի լիազորությունները: Ընդդիմության կոչով հասարակության մեծ մասը բոյկոտեց Սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների հանրաքվեն, սակայն պաշտոնապես հանրաքվեն համարվեց կայացած եւ այդ փոփոխություններն ընդունվեցին:
Սահմանադրությունը փոփոխությունների է ենթարկվել նաեւ 2015-ին: Մասնավորապես, 2015-ի դեկտեմբերի 6-ին տեղի ունեցավ սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների հանրաքվե, ըստ որի Հայաստանն անցում կատարեց կառավարման խորհրդարանական համակարգի: Ըստ այդմ, Հայաստանում այլեւս տեղի չեն ունենա նախագահի ընտրություններ՝ համաժողովրդական քվեարկությամբ: Նախագահը կընտրվի 2017 թվականի խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների արդյունքում ձեւավորված Ազգային ժողովի եւ ընտրիչների ինստիտուտի կողմից:
Բացի այդ, Սահմանադրական փոփոխություններով Ազգային ժողովը ձեւավորվում է միայն համամասնական ընտրակարգով, այսինքն չեն լինելու անկխ թեկնածուներ: բոլորն ընտրվելու են այս կամ այն կուսակցության ներկայացրած ցուցակներով:
Նշենք, որ ըստ ՀՀ Սահմանադրության առաջին և երկրորդ հոդվածների Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունն ինքնիշխան, ժողովրդավարական, սոցիալական, իրավական պետություն է,իսկ ՀՀ իշխանությունը պատկանում է ժողովրդին:
«Հայաստանի Հանրապետության տոների եւ հիշատակի օրերի մասին» օրենքով` 2001 թ. հուլիսի 24-ի որոշմամբ հուլիսի 5-ը նշվում է որպես Սահմանադրության օր եւ հայտարարված է ոչ աշխատանքային:
