Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը և Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը ՆԱՏՕ-ի գագաթնաժողովի շրջանակում հանդիպել են Վարշավայում և ի թիվս այլ հարցերի քննարկել Բունդեսթագում Հայոց ցեղասպանության բանաձևի ընդունման հարցը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Reuters գործակալությունը:

Հանդիպումը նախատեսված 45 րոպեից ավել է տևել: Թուրքիայի նախագահականին մոտ կանգնած աղբյուրը հայտնել է, որ Էրդողանն իր հիասթափությունն է հայտնել Մերկելին` կապված Բունդեսթագում ընդունված բանաձևի հետ: Նույն աղբյուրի համաձայն` Գերմանիայի կանցլերը վստահեցրել է, որ «կանի առավելագույնը` վստահեցնելու, որ այդ դեպքը չի վնասի թուրք-գերմանական հարաբերություններին»:

Թուրքական աղբյուրը հայտնում է նաև, որ Մերկելն Էրդողանի հետ քննարկել է գերմանական պատվիրակությունը թուրքական Ինջիրլիքի ռազմաբազա թույլ չտալու միջադեպի մասին:  Էրդողանը խոստացել է ուսումնասիրել գերմանական կողմի դիմումը:

Մերկելը հանդիպումից հետո լրագրողներին տված կարճ հարցազրույցում կառուցողական է գնահատել Էրդողանի հետ ունեցած հանդիպումը:

Reuters-ը հիշեցնում է, որ Վարշավայում երկու երկրի ղեկավարների հանդիպումն առաջինն է Բունդեսթագում Հայոց ցեղասպանության բանաձևի ընդունումից և դրանով պայմանավորված թուրք-գերմանական հարաբերություններում լարվածության աճից հետո:
