Մյունխենի Մաքս Պլանկի Ինստիտուտի գիտնակաները ուսումնասիրել են 160 մեծահասակների, որպեսզի պարզեն, թե ինչպես է քունը ազդում նրանց ինտելլեկտուալ կարողությունների վրա:
Mail Online-ը գրում է, որ հետազոտողները հետևել են խմբի քնի տեսակները, ինչպես նաև նրանց տվել են ինտելլեկտուալ թեստեր, որպեսզի գնահատեն նրանց խնդիր լուծելու կարողությունները: Նրանք նաև հետևել են, թե ինչով էին տարբերվում կանանց և տղամարդկանց վարքագծերը տարբեր տեսակի քուն ունենալու դեպքում:
Ուսումնասիրությունը պարզեց, որ «քնի իլիկ» կոչվածը, որը ասոցացվում է ավելի բարձր IQ-ի հետ, աճում էր, երբ կանայք աներազ քուն էին մտնում: Տղամարդկանց մոտ ոչ մի փոփոխություն տեղի չունեցավ աներազ քնի ժամանակ:
Պրոֆեսոր Մարտին Դրեզլերն ասում է. «Մեր արդյունքները ցույց են տալիս, որ քնի իլիկի և մարդու ինտելլեկտի միջև կապը շատ ավելի բարդ է, քան մենք էինք ենթադրում:»
«Կան ինտելլեկտուալ կարողությունների վրա ազդող բազմաթիվ ֆակտորներ, և քունը դրանցից մեկն է: Այս մեծ ուսումնասիրությունը, որ արվեց կանանց և տղամարդկանց միջև, մեզ ավելի պարզ պատկեր տվեց մեր հաջորդ ուսումնասիրությունների համար, որն արդեն կապված կլինի անհատների քնի տարբերությունների հետ:»
Ավելի վաղ այս տարի Լոֆբորոյի համալսարանի քնի հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի հետազոտողները պարզել էին, որ կանայք հնարավոր է, որ ավելի շատ քնի կարիք ունենան, քանի որ նրանց ուղեղներն ավելի բարդ են կառուցված, քան տղամարդկանցը: Պրոֆեսոր Ջիմ Հորնը, ով ուսումնասիրել է այս խնդիրը, ասում է. «Կանայք ավելի լավ են կարողանում միաժամանակ մի քանի գործողություններ կատարել: Նրանք ավելի ճկուն են և, հետևաբար, նրանք իրենց ուղեղի ավելի մեծ հատվածն են օգտագործում, քան տղամարդիկ: Հենց այդ պատճառով նրանք ավելի շատ են քնելու կարիք ունենում:»
