Հաշվի առնելով, որ կնոջ ծաղկուն տարիքը 40 տարեկանն է, հենց այդ ժամանակ է սկսվում իսկական կյանքը, բայց, ինչպես ցույց է տվել Բրիտանիայի համալսարաններից մեկում կատարված վերջին հետազոտությունը, 46 տարեկանում կյանքն ավարտվում է: Այլ կերպ ասած՝ ըստ հետազոտողների՝ կինը կարող է կյանքով ուրախանալ միայն 6 տարի:
Չէ՞ որ հենց 46 տարեկանում են գեղեցիկ սեռի ներկայացուցիչները սկսում առավել շատ մտահոգվել ծերությամբ: Նրանք սկսում են «չափազանց» հաճախ խոսել ծերանալու մասին և հիշել անցած երիտասարդության ու բաց թողած հնարավորությունների մասին: Հետազոտության ընթացքում, որին մասնակցել է 18-87 տարեկան 1000 կին, պարզվել է, որ «ես այնքան ճարպոտ եմ», «Իմ հետույքը սրանով պարզապես սարսափելի տեսք ունի» և նման այլ արտահայտությունները կանանցից ավելի ու ավելի քիչ են լսվում:
Հետազոտության արդյունքներով փոքր է հավանականությունը, որ նրանք, ովքեր անհանգստանում են իրենց տարիքի հարցում, հետևում են իրենց և ունեն կյանքի վատ որակ: Իսկ այն կանայք, որոնք ջանքեր են գործադրում հակատարիքային քսուքների միջոցով ծերանալու գործընթացը կանխելու համար, պարզապես զուր ժամանակ են ծախսում: Բանն այն է, որ դանիացի հետազոտողները պարզել են, որ լիպոսոմները չեն կարող երաշխավորել խոստացված երիտասարդացնող արդյունքը, քանի որ մաշկն արգելափակվում է դրանց ներթափանցումը:
