Մեծ Բրիտանիան մտադիր չԷ հրաժարվել Եվրոպայում համագործակցության գործընթացներում՝ իր առաջատար դերից, չնայած Եվրամիությունից դուրս գալուն: Այս մասին լրագրողներին հայտարարել Է Մեծ Բրիտանիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարարության ղեկավար Բորիս Ջոնսոնը՝ Բրյուսելում ԵՄ-ի արտաքին գործերի նախարարների հանդիպմանը ժամանելուց հետո:
«Հաղորդումը, որը ես պատրաստվում եմ հայտնելու (ԵՄ-ի) Խորհրդի՝ մեր բարեկամներին, այն Է, որ մենք պարտավոր ենք կատարել ժողովրդի կամքը եւ դուրս գալ Եվրամիությունից, բայց դա ոչ մի դեպքում չի նշանակում, թե մենք լքում ենք Եվրոպան»,- մեջբերում Է անում Ջոնսոնի խոսքից Reuters գործակալությունը: «Մենք բացարձակապես չենք պատրաստվում հրաժարվելու մեր առաջատար դերից այն բանում, ինչը վերաբերում Է համագործակցությանը Եվրոպայում եւ ամեն տեսակ մասնակցությանը»,- հավելել Է նա:
Եվրասկեպտիկ Ջոնսոնը կմասնակցի հանրակցության արտաքին գործերի նախարարների պլանային հանդիպմանը, որտեղ, սակայն, չի քննարկվի Brexit-ն, այլ խոսքը, մասնավորապես, կվերաբերի Չինաստանի եւ Լատինական Ամերիկայի հետ Եվրամիության հարաբերություններին: ԵՄ-ի ԱԳ նախարարությունների ղեկավարները հուլիսի18-ին նաեւ աշխատանքային հանդիպում կանցկացներն ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերիի հետ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
