ԱՄՆ–ը վճռականորեն Թուրքիային կոչ է անում երկրում հեղաշրջման փորձից հետո պահպանել բարձրագույն ժողովրդավարական չափանիշները եւ մեղավորների նկատմամաբ արդար դատաստան տեսնել։ Այս մասին ասել է ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերրին, փոխանցում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»–ն։
«Մենք աջակցում են Թուրքիայի ժողովրդավար ընտրված ղեկավարությանը, նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման ու ես հայտարարել ենք այդ մասին իրադարձությունների առաջին ժամերի ընթացքում։ Բայց մենք նաեւ երկրի կառավարությանը վճռականորեն կոչ ենք անում հանգստություն եւ կայունություն պահպանել երկրում եւ պահպանել բարձրագույն ժողովրդավարական չափանիշները օրենքի գերակայության սահմաններում։
Մենք պաշտպանում ենք կազմակերպիչներին դատարանին հանձնելը, բայց մենք նախազգուշացնում ենք զերծ մնալ դրա սահմաններից դուրս նպատակների իրականացումից եւ կարծում ենք, որ անհրաժեշտ է պահպանել ժողովրդավարական նորմերը»,– ասել է Քերրին։
