ՄԱԿ-ի քարտուղարությունը վրդովված Է Ուկրաինայում լրագրող Պավել Շերեմետի սպանությունից եւ այդ հանցագործության հանգամանալից հետաքննություն անցկացնելու կոչ Է անում: Հուլիսի 20-ին այս մասին ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտարարել Է Համաշխարհային կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղարի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցչի տեղակալ Ֆարխան Խաքը:
«Ցավակցություններ ենք հայտնում նրա ընտանիքին: Այդ հարձակումը վրդովեցուցիչ Է եւ պետք Է լիովին հետաքննվի»,- ասել Է նա:
Հուլիսի 20-ին առավոտյան Կիեւի կենտրոնում պայթել Է այն ավտոմոբիլը, որով Շերեմտը գնում Էր ռադիոյի առավոտյան եթերի: Լրագրողը տեղում զոհվել Է: Ավտոմոբիլը պատկանում Է Ելենա Պրիտուլեին (Շերեմետի կնոջը եւ «Ուկրաինսկայա պրավդա» ինտերնետ-հրատարակության ղեկավարին), սակայն նա ավտոմեքենայում չի եղել: Ոստիկանության նախնական տվյալներով՝ ավտոմոբիլի պայթյունի պատճառ Է դարձել պայթուցիկ սարքը, Շերեմետի ավտոմոբիլի պայթյունը նախապես որակվել Է որպես դիտավորյալ սպանություն:
