«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է․ «Ժողովուրդ»-ը նախօրեին գրել էր, որ մի քանի օր է՝ նախագահական նստավայրից զանգահարում են Հայաստանի եւ Արցախի հանրության շրջանում հեղինակություն վայելող քաղաքական, հասարակական, մշակութային եւ հոգեւոր գործիչներին ու նրանց համոզում են, որ «Սասնա ծռեր» խմբի անդամների հետ բանակցեն՝ վայր դնելու զենքերը:
Եվ, ահա, երեկ հայտնի դարձավ, որ Երեւան էր եկել ԼՂՀ ազգային ժողովի պատգամավոր, Արցախի հերոս Վիտալի Բալասանյանը՝ ՀՀ ոստիկանության ՊՊԾ գունդը գրաված զինյալների հետ բանակցելու նպատակով: «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկություններով՝ «Սասնա ծռեր» խմբավորման անդամները պնդել են իրենց պահանջները, այն է՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հրաժարական, Ժիրայր Սէֆիլյանի եւ մնացած քաղբանտարկյալների ազատ արձակում:
Ավելի ուշ, երբ Վիտալի Բալասանյանը դուրս է եկել ոստիկանության ՊՊԾ գնդի տարածքից, ուղեւորվել է ՀՀ նախագահի նստավայր, հանդիպել է Սերժ Սարգսյանի հետ եւ նրան է հաղորդել բանակցության արդյունքները: Իսկ թե ինչ է պատասխանել Սերժ Սարգսյանը, «Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթին չհաջողվեց պարզել: Թերեւս նրա պատասխանը պարզ կդառնա իրադարձությունների հետագա զարգացման ընթացքի արդյունքում»:
