♦ Անհամաչափություն

Եթե խալի մի կեսը մյուսից տարբերվում է իր ձևով, դա կարող է հուշել, որ խալն իրենից իրականում կարցինոմա է ներկայացնում։

♦ Ձև

Եթե խալի ձևն անhարթ է կամ ոչ հստակ ուրվագիծ ունի, դա կարող է մելանոմայի նշան լինել։

♦ Գույն

Չափազանց մուգ խալերը կամ անհամաչափ գունավորում ունեցող խալերը կարող են հուշել հիվանդության առկայության մասին։

♦ Տրամագիծ

Եթե խալի տրամագիծն անցնում է սովորական մատիտի տրամագծի չափը, ապա անհրաժեշտ է ուշադրություն դարձնել դրան, չնայած մելանոմաները լինում են նաև փոքր չափերի։

♦ Փոփոխություններ

Խալը, որը փոխում է իր չափը, ձևը կամ գույնը, անկասկած պետք է հետազոտվի։ 
Եթե դուք ստուգել եք ձեր խալերը, սակայն դեռևս չեք կարողանում հասկանալ՝ արդյո՞ք դրանք վտանգավոր են, թե՝ ոչ, ավելի լավ է բժշկի դիմել։
