 ԱՄՆ-ի նախկին պետքարտուղար Հիլարի Քլինթոնը պաշտոնապես դարձել Է ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի թեկնածու Դեմոկրատական կուսակցությունից: Ֆիլադելֆիայում ընթացող կուսակցական համագումարի ընթացքում նրա օգտին իրենց քվեներն են տվել բավականաչափ քանակով պատգամավորներ, ինչը նրա համար ապահովել Է առաջադրումը, հաղորդել Է Reuters-ը:  

Քլինթոնը դարձել Է առաջին կինը, որը նախագահության թեկնածու Է առաջադրվել ԱՄՆ-ի երկու քաղաքական կուսակցություններից մեկի կողմից: Նրա հետ միասին ընտրությունների Է գնում նրա կողմից փոխնախագահի պաշտոնի համար առաջադրված սենատոր Թիմ Քեյնը Վիրջինիայի նահանգից: 

ԱՄՆ-ի Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության համագումարի պատգամավորները սենատոր Բեռնի Սանդերսի կողմնակիցների թվից Ֆիլադելֆիայում հեռացել են միջոցառումից՝ ի նշան բողոքի դեմոկրատների կողմից Հիլարի Քլինթոնին որպես նախագահի միակ թեկնածու հաստատելու դեմ:  

Մանդերսի կողմնակից պատգամավորների զգալի մասը դահլիճից դուրս Է եկել իր առաջնորդից անմիջապես հետո, որը հեռացել Է համագումարից՝ դրանից առաջ պաշտոնապես հայտարարելով, որ ինքը պաշտպանում Է Քլինթոնին:

Այնուհետեւ մի քանի տասնյակ պատգամավորներ  մերձակայքում գտնվող մամուլի կենտրոն են եկել պլակատներով, որոնք դիմակազերում են ԱՄՆ-ի Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության Ազգային կոմիտեն: «Սա այն Է, թե ինչ տեսք ունի դեմոկրատիան»,- վանկարկել են նրանք՝ պարզաբանելով իրենց ակցիան:
