ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը մտահոգություն է հայտնել լրագրողների դեմ բռնարարքների առնչությամբ՝ Գլխավոր դատախազության կողմից այդ փաստով քրեական գործի հարուցումը դիտելով որպես նախնական դրական քայլ: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Խորենացու փողոցում և Սարի թաղում հուլիսի 29-ի լույս 30-ի գիշերը տեղի ունեցած իրադարձությունների առնչությամբ հայտարարությամբ է հանդես եկել ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանությունը:

«Մենք պատրաստ ենք շարունակել աշխատանքը քաղաքացիական հասարակության ու կառավարության այն գործիչների հետ, ովքեր իրապես հանձնառու են ամրապնդել իրավունքի գերակայությունը: Միաժամանակ, ոստիկանության վատ վերաբերմունքի հետ կապված հետաքննությունների միջոցով ձեռք բերված տեղեկատվությունը, ինչպես նաև արժանահավատ անկախ հաղորդումներով ստացված տեղեկությունները կկիրառվեն դեսպանատան ծրագրերում ու միջոցառումներում մասնակցության մասով որոշումներ ընդունելիս»,- ասված է հայտարարությունում:

Դեսպանությունը միաժամանակ կոչ է արել կառավարությանը մարդու իրավունքների խախտումների բոլոր դրվագներով անցկացնել լիարժեք, անկախ ու թափանցիկ հետաքննություն և քրեական պատասխանատվության ենթարկել մեղավորներին՝ օրենքի ողջ խստությամբ: «Մենք նաև կոչ ենք անում կառավարությանն անհապաղ քայլեր ձեռնարկել ՀՀ քաղաքացիների սահմանադրական ու մարդու իրավունքների խախտման նմանօրինակ դեպքեր թույլ չտալու ուղղությամբ»,- ասված է դեսպանության հայտարարության մեջ:
ԱՄՆ դեսպանությունը ողջունել է նաև ՀՀ Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի ջանքերն ուղղված ցուցարարների, լրագրողների, անցորդների հանդեպ դրսևորված բռնության դեպքերի փաստագրմանը և բերման ենթարկվածների իրավական պաշտպանության առնչությամբ:
