Իսրայելի խորհրդարանի` Կնեսետի Կրթության և սպորտի հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Յակով Մարգին հայտարարել է, որ հանձնաժողովը ճանաչում է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը:

«Մեր բարոյական պարտքն է ճանաչել հայ ազգի Հոլոքոստը»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ասել է Յակով Մարգինը:

Կնեսետի պատգամավոր Զեհևա Գալոնը, ով նախաձեռնել էր Կրթության և սպորտի հանձնաժողովի նիստը, մասնավորապես, ասել է. «Ամեն տարի մենք կեղծ հույս ենք տալիս մարդկանց, ովքեր նստած են այստեղ: Դա անկեղծ չէ, որ Կնեսետն անդադար քննարկումներ կազմակերպի այս հարցի շուրջ, առանց որոշում կայացնելու այն մասին, որ Իսրայել պետությունը և օրենսդիր մարմինը ճանաչի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»:

Կնեսետի պատգամավորներ Նաչման Շաին, Դով Քենինը, Զոհեր Բահլոն արտահայտել են միևնույն տեսակետը:

Երուսաղեմի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի ներկայացուցիչ Ժորժետա Ավագյանը նշել է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունից 101 տարի անց Կնեսետի համար եկել է ժամանակը միանալու այն 20-ից ավելի երկրների խորհրդարաններին, որոնք արդեն ճանաչել են Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: «Կնեսետը և երկրի նախագահը պետք է ճանաչեն մեր ազգի ցեղասպանությունը»,- ասել է նա: 

Հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Յակով Մարգին ափսոսանք է հայտնել այն փաստի կապակցությամբ, որ Կնեսետը դեռ չի կայացրել որոշում և կոչ է արել Կնեսետի խոսնակին իր խոսքին տեր լինել, որը վերջինս հնչեցրել է նախորդ տարի Կրթության նախարարությունում:
