«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է. «Արդեն երեք օր է՝ Հայաստանի լրագրողական աշխարհը եւ ընդհանրապես հանրությունը փորձում են հասկանալ, թե ինչու Սերժ Սարգսյանը ոստիկանությանը շնորհակալություն հայտնեց: Արդյոք նա այնքան է իրականությունից կտրվել, որ ցուցարարների, այդ թվում նաեւ իրենց մասնագիտական պարտքը կատարող լրագրողների նկատմամբ իրականացված վայրագությունների մասին տեղյակ չի եղել:
Կամ ինչպես կարող է թաղային խուժանի հետ քաղաքացու դեմ մարտնչող ոստիկանին շնորհակալություն հայտնել:
«Ժողովուրդ»-ին լուրեր հասան, որ ԱԱԾ-ի ղեկավարությունը Սերժ Սարգսյանին հասկացրել է, թե իրենց օպերատիվ տեղեկությունների համաձայն՝ «Սասնա ծռերի» դրսում գտնվող համախոհները փորձելու են ճեղքել ոստիկանական պատնեշը եւ հասնել ՊՊԾ գնդի տարածք: Այնտեղից արդեն ժողովուրդը «Սասնա ծռերի» խմբի անդամների եւ հատուկ տեխնիկայի ուղեկցությամբ իբր պետք է գրոհեին նախագահական նստավայրը եւ ստիպեին Սերժ Սարգսյանին հրաժարական ներկայացնել:
Այլ կերպ ասած՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանին համոզել են, որ թաղային խուժանն ու ոստիկանությունը հուլիսի 29-ի լույս 30-ի գիշերը հանուն «շեֆի» են վայրագություններ կատարել: Ահա եւ շնորհակալության առիթը»:
