23-ամյա թոփ-մոդելը ներկայացրել է ոչ միայն շքեղ մարմինը, այլեւ անկեղծ հարցազրույցում պատմել է իր դեպրեսիայի մասին: 

«Նորաձեւության բիզնեսը վերաբերում է նրան, թե ինչ տեսք ունես, ոչ թե` ով ես իրականում: Դու զգում ես, որ ոչ մեկին չես հետաքրքրում որպես մարդ, բոլորի համար կարեւոր է, թե  ինչ արտաքին ունես», - բացատրում է Կարան, որը վերջերս նշանվել է երգչուհի St.Vincent-ի հետ:

2015 թվականին նա խոստովանել է, որ պատաի տարիքում տառապել է դեպրեսիայից: Այդ ամենը սկսվել է նրանից, որ նրա մայրը` Պանդորան, բուժվել է մանիակալ-դեպրեսիվ պսիխոզից եւ թմրանյութային կախվածությունից: Մոր խնդիրների պատճառով Կարան  արդեն 8 տարեկանում բախվել է առաջին փորձություններին:

 

«Ես իմ կյանքում ոչինչ չէի կարողանում վերահսկել, դա հացադուլի վերաճեց: Ես ասում էի, որ չեմ ուտի, մինչեւ ինձ չասեն, թե մայրս որտեղ է: Առաջին անգամ ես իսկական դեպրեսիա ունեցա, երբ մոտ 16 տարեկան էի: Ես ամբողջ ուժով ջանում էի ցույց տալ, թե ամեն ինչ լավ է: Դեռեւս երեխա ժամանակ ինձ թվում էր, թե պետք է ուժեղ աղջիկ լինեմ, չէ որ իմ մայրը թույլ էր: Ես լավ էի սովորում դպրոցում, բայց այդ ամենն անում էի ոչ թե ինձ համար, այլ ծնողներիս: 

Ես հասկանում էի, որ երիտասարդ մարդ եմ, ես շատ բան ունեմ, բայց միայն մեռնել էի ուզում: Այդ պատճառով ես մեղավոր էի զգում եւ ատում էի ինձ, փակ շրջան էր: Ես չէի ուզում ապրել, ուզում էի, որ իմ մարմնի յուրաքանչյուր մոլեկուլ ավերվի», - ասում է Կարա Դելեւինը` վերհիշելով, թե այդ ժամանակ ինչպես էր անտառ փախչում, գլխով խփում ծառերին եւ ոտքերը քերծում արյունոտելու աստիճան:
