Ներկայացնում ենք թերթի խմբագրականից մի հատված.

««Ամեն թուրքերից ավելի վատթար են մեր ներքին թուրքերը»։ Մոտ 30 տարի Գարեգին Նժդեհի այս արտահայտությանը ես կարդում եմ «վերակառուցված խորհրդահայ», իսկ այնուհետև՝ անկախ Հայաստանի լրատվամիջոցներում։ Ընդ որում, ենթադրվում է, որ Նժդեհի այդ արտահայտությանն այնքան իմաստուն է և այնքան, այսպես ասած, ունիվերսալ, որ մշտատես կիրառելի է կյանքի բոլոր հանգամանքներում։ Օրինակ՝ որևէ հավատավոր հանրապետական կարող է եզրակացնել, որ «ներքին թուրքերը» արևմտյան դրամաշնորհներ ստացողներն են և այդպիսով «երկիրը քանդողները»։ Մյուս կողմից՝ ես կարող եմ «ներքին թուրք» համարել կաշառք պահանջող մաքսավորին կամ թաղապետարանի աշխատակցին։ Իշխանությունը   (որի տեսանկյունից Նժդեհը կոմունիստների, Լենինի նման մի անձնավորության է) գտնում է, որ «ներքին թուրքերը» ընդդիմադիրներն են։ Ընդդիմությունը, բնականաբար, ճիշտ հակառակն է կարծում՝ «ներքին թուրքը» ժողովրդին հարստահարող իշխանությունն է, սակայն՝ ոչ միշտ, այլ միայն այն պահից, երբ իրենք դադարել են իշխանություն լինելուց, որովհետև իրենք չէին հարստահարում։

Իրականում անգամ արտաքին թշնամուն (ես գերադասում եմ «հակառակորդ» բառը) հաղթելու համար տետք չէ նրան ատել։ Պետք է պետք է՝ ոչնչացնել նրա մարդուժը, զինտեխնիկան, տնտեսական ենթակառուցվածքները, եթե  նաև բնակավայրերը։ Բայց դա անհրաժեշտ է անել սառնասրտորեն, առանց էմոցիաների և այն մասշտաբով, որն անհրաժեշտ է մեր անվտանգության համար։ Պատերազմը, որը շատով վերսկսվելու է, սառնասրտություն է պահանջում»,–գրում է թերթը։
