Ժամանակ առ ժամանակ բնությունը մեզ հետ չար կատակ է խաղում ու ծնվում են «յուրահատուկ» մարդիկ: Նրանց հաճախ հրեշներ են անվանում, սակայն դա չի խանգարում ապրել նորմալ կյանքով:

Past.am-ը ներկայացնում է մի քանի մարդու պատմություն, ովքեր ապրել են 19-րդ դարավերջին ու 20-րդ դարի սկզբին: 

Էլլա Հարփեր, հայտնի է որպես «Մարդ-ուղտ»

Աղջիկն իր մականունն ստացել է սարսափելի օրթոպեդիկ պաթոլոգիայի հետևանքով: Նրա ոտքերը հետ էին ուղղված ու նա ստիպված էր չորեքթաթ քայլել: Նա իր ամբողջ կյանքում աշխատել է կրկեսում՝ վաստակելով իր ժամանակների համար մեծ գումար՝ 200 դոլար շաբաթական:

Մահացել է 1921 թվականին 52 տարեկանում:

Դեռահասության տարիներին նրա մոտ հայտնաբերվել է ակրոմեգալիա՝ հիվանդություն, որը ուղեկցվում է ոտնաթաթերի, դաստակի ու գանգոսկրի մեծացմամբ: Նա դարձել է նաև 1940-ականների կինոյի աստղը:

Ֆրենկը ծնվել էր լիարժեք գործող երրորդ ոտքով, որը սիամական երկվորյակի անհաջող ծննդի հետևանք էր: Նա ամբողջ կյանքն անցկացրել է կրկեսային շոուներում ու դա չի խանգարել նրան ամուսնանալ ու երեխաներ ունենալ:

 Այս մարդուն դեռ լույս աշխարհ գալուց առաջ՝ մոր արգանդում, նրա մարմնին ամրացել է սիամական երկվորյակ:
