Վրաստանի պետական անվտանգության ծառայությունը խափանել Է ահաբեկչական գործողության իրականացումը: Ձերբակալվել Է յոթ մարդ, որոնց թվում Է Փոթի քաղաքի պարեկային ոստիկանության աշխատակից Լեւան Մամպորիան: Ձերբակալվածները մեղադրվում են ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության հետ կապեր ունենալու մեջ, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ հղում անելով «Գրուզիա Online»-ին:

Ինչպես բրիֆինգի ժամանակ հայտարարել Է ՊԱԾ-ի ներկայացուցիչը, կալանավորվածները պլանավորում Էին պայթեցնել Սագուրամ գյուղի տարածքվով անցնող գազամուղը, որը միացնում Է Ռուսաստանը եւ Հայաստանը: Ահաբեկչական գործողության նախապատրաստման մեղադրանքով ձերբակալված են Վրաստանի հինգ քաղաքացիներ՝ Բեկա Բ-ն, Վլադիմիր Ռ-ն, Մինդիա Ռ-ն, Ջաբա Մ-ն, Նուրի Չ-ն:

Բացի այդ, պաշտոնեական լիազորությունները չարաշահելու փաստով ձերբակալված Է պարեկային ոստիկանության գործող աշխատակից Լեւան Մ-ն, ինչպես նաեւ հանցագործության մասին չիրազեկելու համար՝ քաղաքացի Իրակլի Բ-ն:

Իրենց պլաններն իրականացնելու նպատակով՝ հանցախմբի անդամները օգոստոսի 20-ին ուղեւորվել են Ժինվալի-Շատիլի ավտոճանապարհի մերձակա անտառազանգված՝ այնտեղից պայթանյութեր վերցնելու: Սակայն դրանք վերցնելու պահին նրանք ձերբակալվել են: Կալանավորվածներից մեկի տանը համակարգչից առգրավվել Է քարտեզ, որի վրա նշված են եղել այն վայրերը, որտեղ նրանք պլանավորում Էին իրականացնել պայթյունները:

Հետաքննությունը վարում Է Վրաստանի ՊԱԾ-ի հակահետախուզության դեպարտամենը:
