Ըստ նոր ուսումնասիրության կարիերայի ավելի վաղ փուլերում վատ աշխատանք ունենալը կարող է հետագայում ազդել մեր առողջության վրա:
20-ից 30 տարեկաններում աշխատանքից ցածր բավարարվածություն ունենալը կարող է հետագայում ընկճվածություն և քնի խնդիրներ առաջացնել: Ինչպես նաև հավանական է, որ այդ մարդիկ ավելի շատ կգանգատվեն մեջքի ցավից և հաճախակի մրսածությունից:
Օհայոյի համալսարանի հետազոտողները ուսումնասիրել են մոտ 6432 չափահաս մարդու և խնդրել են նրանց գնահատել իրենց բավարարվածությունը իրենց աշխատանքից, որոնք նրանք ունեցել են 25-39 տարեկան ահսակում (պետք է գնահատեին 1-ից 4 բալային սանդղակով):
Ապա փորձի մասնակիցներին, ըստ իրենց աշխտանքի բավարարվածության մասին հարցման պատասխանների բաժանել են չորս խմբի:
Մասնակիցների մոտ 45%-ը նշել էին, որ իրենք բավարաված չէին իրենց աշխատանքով, իսկ 23%-ի մոտ այդ մակարդակն ավելի իջնում էր կարիերայի վաղ շրջանում:
Մոտ 15%-ը միջին աստիճանի բավարարվածություն էր ցուցաբերել, իսկ 17%-ը բավարարված էր: Ապա հետազոտողները համեմատել են իրենց աշխատանքով բավարարված մարդկանց առողջական տվյալները մնացած խմբերի անդամների հետ: Պարզվեց, որ մտավոր առողջությունն ամենաշատն էր ազդվել աշխատանքից: Գլխավոր հետազոտող Հուի Ժենգն ասում է, որ կարիերայի սկզբնական փուլում ձեռք բերած աշխատանքը շատ կարևոր դեր է խաղում մարդկանց ապագայի համար:
«Կարիերայի վերջում չէ, որ դուք կարող եք նկատել ձեր աշխատանքի առողջական հետևանքները՝ հատկապես մտավոր առողջությունը:»
«Մտավոր առողջության խնդիրների առկայությունը իրենց աշխատանքից դժգոհ մարդկանց մոտ կարող է կանխագուշակել ապագա ֆիզիկական խնդիրների մասին:»
«Ընկճվածությունը և անհանգստությունը կարող են բերել սրտանոթային կամ այլ առողջական խնդիրների, որոնք ի հայտ չեն գա մինչև ավելի մեծ տարիքի հասնելը:»
Ուսումնասիրությունը ցույց տվեց, որ մարդիկ, ովքեր ցածր բավարարվածության ցուցանիշ ունեին իրենց կարիերայի սկզբում, մտավոր առողջության ավելի վատ արդյունքներ ունեին: Նրանց մոտ բարձր էր ընկճվածության, քնի խանգարման և անհանգիստ վիճակի մակարդակը:
Ինչպես նաև վաղ տարիքում աշխատանքից չբավարարված լինելը կապված էր հաճախակի մրսածության և մեջքի ցավի հետ:
