ԱՄՆ-ը մերժում են ընդդիմադիր իսլամիստ քարոզիչ Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի մասնակցությունը Թուրքիայում հուլիսի 15-ին տեղի ունեցած ռազմական հեղաշրջման փորձի կազմակերպմանը:

Վկայակոչելով «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ին, ԱՄՆ-ի պետքարտուղարության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարկ Թոները նախօրեին հայտարարել է, որ Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենին արտահանձնելու Թուրքիայի հարցումը կապված չէ այդ երկրում ռազմական հեղաշրջման փորձին մասնակցության մասին նրա հասցեին հնչած մեղադրանքների հետ:

«Այդ հարցումը կապված չէ հեղաշրջման փորձի հետ», -ասել է Մարկ Թոները` պատասխանելով Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի մասին Թուրքիայից ստացված փաստաթղթերը մեկնաբանելու լրագրողների հարցին:

Թուրքիայի իշխանությունները 1998 թվականից ԱՄՆ-ի Փենսիլվանիա նահանգում վտարանդիության մեջ բնակվող Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենին մեղադրում են երկրում ռազմական հեղաշրջում կազմակերպելու եւ մասնակցության մեջ:

Թուրքիայի վարչապետ Բինալի Յըլդըրըմը ժամանակ առաջ հայտարարել էր, որ ռազմական հեղաշրջմանը Գյուլենի մասնակցության «ապացույցներով փաստաթղթերի փաթեթ» են ուղարկել ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահին եւ խնդրել Գյուլենին արտահանձնել Թուրքիային:   

Ըստ «Անատոլու» լրատվական գործակալության` Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը հայտարարել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ին վաղ թե ուշ հարկ կլինի ընտրություն կատարել Անկարայի եւ Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենի միջեւ: Ստամբուլի ծանր հանցագործությունների դատարանը Ֆեթուլլահ Գյուլենին ձերբակալելու վճիռ է կայացրել:
