 ԱՄՆ-ի Պետդեպարտամենտը պատմական է համարում վերջին կես դարում առաջին կանոնավոր ավիաչվերթը Կուբա եւ այն կարծիքին է, որ այն դրական քայլ կդառնա երկու երկրների միջեւ հարաբերությունների զարգացման գործում, տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

JetBlue ընկերության ինքնաթիռը օգոստոսի 31-ին մեկնել է Ֆլորիդայի նահանգի Ֆորտ Լոդերդեյլից եւ վայրէջք կատարել Կուբայի Սանտա Կլարա քաղաքի օդանավակայանում, ինչի մասին հայտնել է Prensa Latina գործակալությունը: Այդ թռիչքն առաջին կանոնավոր չվերթն է դարձել 1963 թվականից ի վեր, երբ ԱՄՆ-ը եւ Կուբան խզեցին դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունները:

«Սա դրական քայլառաջ է մեր երկու երկրների միջեւ դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների նորմալացման ճանապարհին: Մենք ողջունում ենք ԱՄՆ-ից առաջին կանոնավոր չվերթը Կուբա: Անտարակույս, այն պատմական է»,- ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է Պետդեպարտամենտի պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Ջոն Քիրբին:

ԱՄՆ-ի տրանսպորտի դեպարտամենտը նշել է այն տասն ավիափոխադրողներին, որոնք Կուբա կանոնավոր չվերթներ իրականացնելու իրավունք են ստացել: Սպասվում է, որ դրանք օրական մինչեւ 110 կանոնավոր չվերթներ կկատարեն կոմունիստական պետություն:

Թռիչքների թույլտվություն են ստացել Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Silver Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country եւ United Airlines ընկերությունները:

ԱՄՆ-ը եւ Կուբան 2014 թվականի վերջին հայտարարել են հարաբերությունների աստիճանական նորմալացման ուղղությամբ աշխատանք սկսելու մասին: Անցած ժամանակահատվածում երկու երկրները վերականգնել են դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունները, Հավանա է այցելել ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման: ԱՄՆ-ը մեղմացրել է Կուբայի դեմ սահմանված պատժամիջոցներից մի քանիսը, թեեւ դեռեւս ուժի մեջ է մնում արդեն ավելի քան կես դար գործող առեւտրական էմբարգոն, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
