Կյանքի ընթացքում մենք երկու անգամ նոր ատամներ ենք «ստանում», սակայն սխալ չեմ լինի, եթե ասեմ, որ շատ մարդիկ դա անում են երեք անգամ։ Մոտավորապես 20 տարեկան հասակում մեր ծնոտի անկյուններում աճում են իմաստության ատամները։
Շատ հաճախ ատամնաբույժները առաջարկում են հանել իմաստության ատամները։ Նրանք կարծում են, որ դրանք անպիտան մաս են կազմում և անհարմարություններ են առաջացնում։ Սակայն որոշ բժշկական ուսումնասիրություններ ցույց են տվել, թե ինչքան անհրաժեշտ են այդ ատամները մեր մարմնին։ Հարկավոր է իմանալ, թե ինչու պետք չէ հեռացնել այդ ատամները, եթե չկա շատ լուրջ պատճառ։
Եկեք հասկանանք, թե ինչ են իրենցից ներկայացնում այդ ատամները։
Իմաստության ատամներին հաճախ նաև անվանում են երրորդ սեղանատամներ։ Աճում են 17-25 տարեկան հասակում։ Հիմնականում մեծահասակներն ունենում են չորս իմաստության ատամներ։ Չնայած դրանք կարող են լինել նաև ավելի շատ։
Ատամնաբույժներն ասում են, որ իմաստության ատամներն ուղղակի անպետք են։
 
 

Ինչու՞ են մեզ պետք իմաստության ատամները

Մեզանից ոչ բոլորը գիտեն, որ իմաստության ատամները կապված են փոքր աղիքների հետ։ Գլխուղեղի կեղևի շարժողական և զգայական նյարդերի շուրջ 46%-ը իրար են կապված մեր բերանի և դեմքի մեջ։ Այսինքն, երբ ատամը հեռացվում է, այն վնաս է հասցնում ամբողջ համակարգին։
Փաստ իմաստության ատամները հեռացնելու մասին, որը երբեք չէիք լսել։
 
 
Իսկ գիտե՞ք, որ աշխարհում 57,000-ից մինչև 175,000 մարդիկ անզգայացել են նյարդային վնասվածքի պատճառով։ Դա բխում է նրանից, որ մեր բոլոր ատամները կապված են իրար նյարդային համակարգի «ճանապարհով»։ Իմաստության ատամները հեռացնելը մեծ վնաս կհասցնի օրգանիզմին։ Երբեմն էլ այն կարող է հանգեցնել հանկարծամահության։
Ոչ օգտակար սննդի օգտագործումը կարող է իմաստության ատամների հիվանդության գլխավոր պատճառ հանդիսանալ։
 

1900-ական թվականներին պարզվեց, որ բերանի խոռոչի առողջությունը կապված է առողջ սննդի ընդունման հետ։ Այն ամրացնում է ծնոտի ոսկորները։ 
Իսկ ծնոտի ամուր ոսկորները պատասխանատու են 32 ատամների առողջության համար։
