«Տեսարան ափին»,

Հենդրիկ վան Անտոնիսսեն Ի՞նչ են անում այս մարդիկ ափում. թվում է, թե հասարակ բնապատկեր է: Իրականում նկարի ռենտգենյան ուսումնասիրությունից հետո փորձագետները հաստատել են, որ այս նկարը պատկերել է ափ նետված կետի նկատմամբ մարդկանց հետաքրքրաիրությունը: Սակայն նկարիչը հասկացավ, որ ոչ ոք չի ցանկանա իր տան պատին կախված տեսնել մի նկար, որում պատկերված է կետի դին: Որոշեց փոփոխել նկարը:  

«Հարսի նախապատրաստումը»

1960 թվականին նկարի ուսումնասիրության արդյունքում պարզ դարձավ, որ այս նկարում իրապես պատկերված է նախապատրաստական գործողություններ, թե ինչպես են  հագցնում աղջկան  հարսի զգեստ: Մինչդեռ պատրաստվում են ոչ թե հարսանիքի, այլ թաղման:  

«Ծեր կիթառահարը», Պաբլո Պիկասո

Բոլորին է ծանոթ հայտնի նկարիչ Պիկասոյի այս կտավը: Սակայն քչերին է հայտնի, որ կտավի հեղինակի համար ծանր ժամանակներ են եղել, քանի որ նրա նկարները դժվարությամբ էին վաճառվում: Ռենտգենը ցույց տվեց, որ նկարի տակ թաքնված է մոր և երեխայի պատկեր:  

«Ժակ-Մարկ դե Մոնբրետոն դե Նորվենի դիմանկարը», Ժան-Օգյուստ-Դոմինիկ Էնգր

Ժամանակները փոխվում են այնպես, ինչպես իդեալները, հասարակական կարգը: Այս նկարիչը պատկերել է Հռոմի ոստիկանության ղեկավարի դիմանկարն այն բանից հետո, երբ Նապոլեոնը գրավեց քաղաքը: Հետին պլանում, համաձայն ուսումնասիրությունների, դրված է Նապոլեոնի որդու գիպսե կիսանդրին: Սակայն Նապոլեոնի պարտությունից հետո նկարիչը թաքցրեց  պատկերը, քանի որ Նապոլեոնը կարող էր վտանգավոր լինել նկարչի կյանքի համար:
