Մոլորակի առնվազն 758 միլիոն չափահաս բնակիչներ մնում են անգրաճանաչ, նրանց մեծ մասը կազմում են կանայք: Այս տագնապալի վիճակագրությունը տեղ Է գտել Միավորված ազգերի կրթության, գիտության եւ մշակույթի հարցերի կազմակերպության (ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ) նոր զեկույցում, որը կներկայացվի սեպտեմբերի 6-ին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»- ը: 

Հայտնելով կրթության մոնիթորինգի տվյալները՝ այդ կարեւոր միջազգային կազմակերպության գլխավոր տնօրեն Իրինա Բոկովան նշել Է, որ դպրոց չհաճախող երեխաների թիվն աշխարհում հասնում Է առնվազն 263 միլիոնի: Նրանց մեկ երրորդը հակամարտությունների շրջաններում գտնվող երեխաներն են: «Աճում Է դպրոցների վրա հարձակումների թիվը,- մատնանշել Է կազմակերպության ղեկավարը:- Վիճակագրությունը ցույց Է տալիս, որ փախստական երեխաների կողմից դպրոց չհաճախելու հավանականությունը հնգակի աճում Է»:    

Ներկայիս միտումների պահպանման դեպքում տարրական կրթության համընդհանուր ընդգրկում ձեռք կբերվի սոսկ 2042 թվականին: Ամենաաղքատ երկրները, սակայն, այդ նպատակին  կհասնեն 100 տարի ավելի ուշ, քան ամենահարուստ երկրները:

«Ամենածանր բեռը բաժին Է ընկել աղջիկներին ու կանանց,- կարծում Է ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ի ղեկավարը:- Աֆրիկայի՝ Սահարայից հարավ ընկած երկրներում աղջիկները, որոնք առավել անբարենպաստ վիճակում են գտնվում, կկարողանան դպրոց հաճախել սոսկ 2086 թվականին, եթե մոտեցումները չփոխվեն», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
