 Գեղարքունիքի մարզի Վարդենիսի քաղաքապետարանը եւ վարդենիսցիները շուքով են դիմավորել օրերս Ֆրանսիայում կայացած հունա-հռոմեական ոճի ըմբշամարտի աշխարհի առաջնությունից երրորդ մրցանակով վերադարձած իրենց համաքաղաքացուն՝ Սերգեյ Սիմոնյանին: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրեց Վարդենիսի մարզադպրոցի տնօրեն Արմեն Սիմոնյանը՝ Վարդենիսի քաղաքապետարանում աշխարհի առաջնության երրորդ մրցանակակրին ընդունեց Վարդենիսի քաղաքապետ Վոլոդյա Խլոյանը:

Քաղաքապետը մեծարեց Սերգեյ Սիմոնյանին, շնորհավորեց նրան եւ առանձնահատուկ շնորհակալություն հայտնեց՝ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության  եւ Վարդենիս քաղաքի անունը բարձր պահելու համար: «Քաղաքապետարանն առաջիկայում պատվոգիր եւ դրամական պարգեւ կշնորհի Սերգեյ Սիմոնյանին, ով Ֆրանսիայի Մայկոն քաղաքում կայացած աշխարհի առաջնությունում բարձր է պահել մեր երկրի ու քաղաքի պատիվը: Մեր մարզադպրոցի սանի նման հաջողությամբ ոգեւորված են բոլոր վարդենիսցիները»,-«Արմենպրես»-ի հետ զրույցում նշեց քաղաքապետը: Սերգեյի հաջողությամբ ուրախ են նաեւ նրա ծնողները եւ մարզիչները:

«Սերգեյը 18 տարեկան է: Նա մարզվել է Վարդենիսի մարզադպրոցում, մարզիչ Մանվել Մկրտչյանի մոտ: Այնուհետեւ ուսումը եւ մարզումները շարունակել է մայրաքաղաքի «Օլիմպիական հերթափոխի» քոլեջում, ուր նրան մարզում էր մարզիչ Մովսես Կարապետյանը, ով եւս մեծ ներդրում ունի այս հաջողության մեջ: Մրցամարտի մեկ ութերորդ եզրափակիչում Սերգեյը հաղթեց ադրբեջանցի մարզիկին 8-0 բացարձակ առավելությամբ, մեկ քառորդում՝ իտալացի Ջիովանի Ֆրենիին, ով 2015 թվականին նվաճել էր աշխարհի չեմպիոնի կոչումը: Կիսաեզրափակիչ գոտեմարտում Սերգեյը 4-6 հաշվով զիջեց ռուս մարզ իկին, իսկ երրորդ տեղի համար գոտեմարտում կարողացավ հաղթել կիրգիզ ըմբիշին»,-ներկայացրեց Վարդենիսի մարզադպրոցի տնօրեն, մրցանակակրի հայր Արմեն Սիմոնյանը:
