Քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանը հանդիպել է Ռիո դե Ժանեյրոյում կայացած 31-րդ օլիմպիական խաղերի հաղթող հունահռոմեական ոճի ըմբիշների և մարզիչների հետ: 

Ողջունելով հյուրերին` Երևանի քաղաքապետը նախ շնորհավորել է նրանց գրանցած փայլուն հաղթանակների առթիվ և շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Հայաստանի պատիվը բարձր պահելու համար:
«Իմ և Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի աշխատակազմի անունից սրտանց շնորհավորում եմ թե՛ ձեզ և թե՛ մեզ բոլորիս: Համոզված եղեք, որ դուք իսկապես մեր ազգի պարծանքն եք: Այդ օրերին ազգովի հետևում էինք ձեր մենամարտերին ու, վստահեցնում եմ, որ շատ մեծ ոգևորություն էր տիրում ամենուր: Շնորհակալ եմ, որ մեզ բոլորիս պարգևեցիք հաղթանակների բերկրանքը, ինչով հպարտացավ ամբողջ ազգը: Նաև շնորհակալ եմ ձեր մարզիչներին, որ նման չեմպիոններ են դաստիարակում: Մեկ անգամ ևս շնորհավորելով բոլորիս` մաղթում եմ ձեզ նորանոր հաջողություններ ու օլիմպիական բարձունքներ»,- ընդգծել է քաղաքապետը:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ջերմ ընդունելության և բարեմաղթանքների համար` Հունահռոմեական ըմբշամարտի Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Լևոն Ջուլֆալակյանն իր հերթին նկատել է, որ այդ հաղթանակների կերտման հարցում իսկապես անչափ կարևոր և պարտավորեցնող է գնահատանքն ու հայ մարզասերների մշտական աջակցությունը:
«Իսկապես ոգևորիչ է, երբ գրանցած ձեռքբերումները գնահատականի են արժանանում: Այն էլ ավելի է ոգևորում ու պարտավորեցնում շարժվել առաջ ու գրավել նորանոր բարձունքներ: Մեր կողմից էլ վստահեցնում եմ, որ կշարունակենք անել հնարավորը, որպեսզի մշտապես բարձր պահենք մեր երկրի պատիվը», - նշել է Լևոն Ջուլֆալակյանը:

ՀՀ վաստակավոր մարզիչ Գևորգ Ալեքսանյանն էլ, ով օլիմպիական չեմպիոն Արթուր Ալեքսանյանի անձնական մարզիչն է, առանձնակի կարևորել է մայրաքաղաքում սպորտի զարգացմանն ուղղված քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանի հետևողական քաղաքականությունը: 
«Ապագա չեմպիոններ ունենալու հարցում անչափ կարևոր է անհրաժեշտ պայմանների ապահովումն ու մշտական աջակցությունը: Ու, օգտվելով առիթից, ուզում եմ նաև Ձեզ շնորհակալություն հայտնել, պարոն քաղաքապետ, որ հատկապես վերջին տարիներին Ձեր մշտական ուշադրության կենտրոնում եք պահում Երևանի մարզադպրոցների նորոգման և արդիականացման խնդիրը: Դրա ականատեսն ու գնահատողն ենք դառնում պարբերաբար Երևանում տարբեր մրցաշարերի կամ հավաքների մասնակցելիս ու անկեղծորեն ուրախանում ենք, որ Հայաստանի մայրաքաղաքում այդպիսի հոգատար վերաբերմունք կա սպորտի նկատմամբ»,- նշել է Գևորգ Ալեքսանյանը:
Քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանը մեկ անգամ ևս վստահեցրել է, որ քաղաքապետարանն իր լիազորությունների շրջանակում պատրաստակամ է ըստ ամենայնի աջակցելու հայ մարզիկներին՝ նորանոր հաջողություններ ապահովելու հաստատակամությամբ:
