Իհարկե, հարկավոր չէր նման բան անել, սակայն ինչ գիտես, թե ինչ կպատահի վաղը: Ցույց են տալիս սցենարը և պահի ազդեցության տակ չես կարողանում հասկանալ դրա հրաշալիությունը:
Շոն Քոներին՝ Գենդալֆի դերում
Օղակների տիրակալը, 2001
Այս դերի առաջին թեկնածուն Շոնն էր: ամեն դեպքում՝ առաջինը նրան էին առաջարկել: Հրաժարվել է, քանի որ գիրքը չէր կարդացել և սցենարից ոչինչ չէր հասկանում: Սակայն հակառակ դեպքում մեծ գումարներ կարող էր աշխատել, որը նրա փոխարեն արեց Յեն Մաքքելենը:
Բյորթ Ռեյնոլդսը՝ Հան Սոլոյի դերում
Աստղային պատերազմներ. նոր հույս, 1977
70-ականներին Բյորթն ամենահայտնի և բարձր վարձատրվող դերասաններից մեկն էր: Իսկ այժմ նա ափսոսում է նրա համար, որ 1977 թ. հրաժարվել է Հանա սոլոյի դերից: Դերն անցավ Հարիսոն Ֆորդին, իսկ Բյորթը մեկ անգամ էլ սխալվեց այն ժամանակ, երբ հրաժարվեց Ջեյմս Բոնդի դերից:
Լեոնարդո դի Կապրիոն՝ Էնակին Սքայուոքերի դերում
Աստղային պատերազմներ. ծաղրածուների հարձակումը, 2002
Լեոնարդոն այնքան էլ լուրջ չի վերաբերվում այն ֆիլմերից, որոնցից Օսկար շահել չի կարող: Էնակինը դրամատիկական դեր էր, իսկ դի Կապրիոն այն ավելի ազդեցիկ կարող էր դարձնել, քան Հեյդեն Քրիստենսենը: Չնայած, հինավուրց 2000 թվականին դի Կապրիոն նկարահանվեց «Նյու Յորքի բանդաներում» ֆիլմում, դրա համար նա ներված է:
Հյու Ջեքմենը՝ Ջեյմս Բոնդի դերում

Հյուն հրաժարվեց դերից, քանի որ կարծում էր, թե այն կդառնա իր անձի կերպարը ժողովրդի մտքում, և կկորցնի ապագայի հետ կապված մի շարք հնարավորություններ: Նույն տարում համաձայնեց խաղալ «Իքս մարդիկ» ֆիլմում:
Քևին Քոսթները՝ Էնդի Դյուֆրեյնի դերում
Փախուստ Շոուշենկից, 1994
Քևինին առաջարկեցին դերը, սակայն նա ստիպված էր ընտրություն կատարել «Փախուստ Շոուշենկից» և «Ջրային աշխարհ» ֆիլմերի միջև: Նա ընտրեց երկրորդը և շատ փոշմանեց հետագայում: Իսկ պատիվը հասավ Թիմ Ռոբինսոնին:
Միշել Փֆայֆերը՝ Կլարիս Ստերլինգի դերում
Ոչխարների լռությունը, 1990
«Ոչխարների լռությունը» ի սկզբանե մռայլ և ծանր ֆիլմ էր լինելու, այդ իսկ պատճառով Միշելը որոշեց կապ չունենալ դրա հետ՝ նյարդերն ավելի կարևոր են: Դերը հասավ Ջոջի Ֆոսթերին, իսկ Միշելն այդ ընթացքում նկարահանվեց «Ֆրենկի և Ջոնի» ֆիլմում:
Դենիել Դեյ Լյուիսը՝ Արագորնի դերում
Օղակների տիրակալը, 2001
Փիթեր Ջեքսոնը մի քանի անգամ դիմել է Դենիելին՝ այս առաջարկով: Հետաքրքիր է՝ ինչ կստացվեր Լյուիսի մոտ, սակայն Վիգո Մորտենսենի խաղը նույնպես հրաշալի էր:
Մեգ Ռայանը՝ Վիվիանի դերում
Գեղեցկուհին, 1990
Մեգը չէր ցանկանում մասնակցել սեքսիստական պրոյեկտի: Փոխարենը Ջուլիա Ռոբերթսը ուղղակի փայլեց այս դերում:
Դեյվիդ Շվիմերը՝ գործակալ Ջեյի դերում
Մարդիկ սևի մեջ, 1997
Ինչու՞ Դեյվիդն այդպես էլ մնաց «Ընկերներ» հեռուստասերիալի Ռոսը: Հրաշալի առաջարկ արվեց նրան՝ այս ֆիլմում խաղալու, սակայն նա հրաժարվեց: Իսկ «Ընկերները» ֆիլմում նկարահանվել համաձայնվել է երրորդ անգամից:
Դանա Դիլեյնին՝ Քերի Բրեդշոուի դերում
Ամենասկզբում սերիալում նկարահանվել առաջարկվեց գեղեցկուհի Քերիին: Սակայն նա չէր ցանկանում նկարահանվել այնպսի ֆիլմում, որը հասարակական լայն կարծիք է պահանջում: Նրա փոխարեն դերը ստացավ Սառա Ջեսիկա Փարքերը:
