 Ֆուտբոլի աշխարհի 2018 թվականի առաջնության եվրոպական գոտում տեղի ունեցան ընտրական մրցաշարի առաջին տուրի մի շարք հանդիպումներ:

«Արմենպրես»-ը հայտնում է, որ A խմբում ընդգրկված Եվրոպայի փոխչեմպիոն Ֆրանսիայի հավաքականը հյուրընկալվելիս չի կարողացել կոտրել Բելառուսի ընտրանու դիմադրությունը, և խաղն ավարտվել է 0-0 հաշվով: Խմբի մյուս խաղում Բուլղարիան սեփական դաշտում դժվարին հաղթանակ է տարել Լյուքսեմբուրգի նկատմամբ: Գոլառատ հանդիպումն ավարտվել է 4-3 հաշվով:

Խմբի կենտրոնական խաղում Շվեդիան սեփական դաշտում հանդիպեց Հոլանդիայի ազգային ընտրանու հետ: Առաջինը հաշվի մեջ առաջ անցան շվեդները`Մարկուս Բերգի ջանքերով: 2-րդ կեսում Հոլանդիան Ուեսլի Սնեյդերի շնորհիվ հավասարեցրեց խաղը և կորզեց կարևոր մեկ միավոր: Խաղն ավարտվեց 1-1 հաշվով:

B խմբի իրենց առաջին խաղում մրցեցին Անդորրայի և Լատվիայի հավաքականները: Վալերիս Շաբալայի հեղինակած գնդակը հաղթանակ պարգևեց լատվիացիներին: Հունգարիան հյուրնկալվելիս սենսացիոն ոչ-ոքի խաղաց Ֆարերյան կղզիների հավաքականի հետ: Խաղն ավարտվեց 0-0 հաշվով: Խմբի ֆավորիտների խաղում ևս անակնկալ արդյունք արձանագրվեց: Եվրոպայի չեմպիոն Պորտուգալիայի հավաքականը հյուրնկալվելիս 0-2 հաշվով պարտվեց Շվեյցարիային: Գոլերի հեղինակ դարձան Բրել Էմբոլոն և Ադմիր Մեհմեդին:

H խմբի բոլոր խաղերում գրանցվեցին օրինաչափ արդյունքներ: Բոսնիա Հերցեգովինան 5-0 հաշվով հաղթեց Էստոնիային, Բելգիան հյուրնկալվելիս 3 անպատասխան գնդակ ուղարկեց կիպրոսցիների դարպասը, իսկ ահա Հունաստանը` Ջիբրալթարի հարկի տակ առավելության հասավ 1-4 հաշվով:

G խմբում հորդառատ անձրևի պատճառով դադարեցված Ալբանիա-Մակեդոնիա խաղի վերջին 15 րոպեները վերախաղարկվեցին: Ալբանիան կարողացավ ի վերջո կարճ ժամանակի ընթացքում դառնալ ևս 1 գոլի հեղինակ և հաղթանակ կորզել 2-1 հաշվով: 89-րդ րոպեին հաղթական դարձավ Բակիմ Բալայի գնդակը:
