Ըստ Տեխասի համալսարանի հետազոտության, թութը պարունակում է ռեսվերատրոլ՝ ֆենոլ, որը կարող է արդյունավետորեն բուժել քաղցկեղի տարբեր տեսակներ ու սրտային հիվանդություններ։
