ԿԺԴՀ-ի սադրիչ գործողությունները «լուրջ հետեւանքներ» կունենան: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, սեպտեմբերի 9-ին հայտարարել Է ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման՝ մեկնաբանելով այդ օրը Փենյանի կողմից իրականացված հերթական միջուկային փորձարկումը:

Ինչպես հայտնել Է Սպիտակ տան մամուլի քարտուղար Ջոշ Էռնեստը, Օբաման այս հայտարարությունն արել Է նախագահական ինքնաթիռում՝ Լաոսից ԱՄՆ վերադառնալու ճանապարհին, որտեղ նա մասնակցել Էր Արեւելասիական 11-րդ գագաթնաժողովի աշխատանքին:

Էռնեստի խոսքով՝ Օբաման մեկ անգամ եւս հաստատել Է «ԱՄՆ-ի անխախտ հանձնառությունը» Ասիաեյում եւ ամբողջ աշխարհում իր դաշնակիցների անվտանգությունն ապահովելու հարցում:

Ավելի վաղ ԿԺԴՀ-ն պաշտոնապես հայտարարել Է հերթական միջուկային փորձարկման մասին: Համապատասխան հաղորդագրությունը տարածել Է Հյուսիսային Կորեայի Կենտրոնական հեռագրական գործակալությունը: Հարավային Կորեայի պաշտպանության նախարարությունը հայտնել Էր, որ Հյուսիսը փորձարկել Է իր պատմության մեջ ամենահզոր ատոմային ռումբը: Գերատեսչությունը նշել Է, որ պայթյունի հզորությունը գնահատվում Է մոտավորապես 10 կիլոտոննա:

ԿԺԴՀ-ն մինչ օրս իրականացրել Է չորս միջուկային թեստ. 2006, 2009, 2013 թվականներին եւ 2016 թվականի հունվարին: 

Հարավային Կորեայի նախագահ Փաք Քըն Հեն հայտարարել Է, որ ԿԺԴՀ-ի նոր միջուկային փորձարկումը կխորացնի Փենյանի մեկուսացումը: Ճապոնիան Պեկինում դիվանագիտական ուղիներով ԿԺԴՀ-ին  վճռական բողոք Է հայտնել նոր միջուկային փորձարկման կապակցությամբ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
