 Վրաստանի փոխվարչապետ, Էներգետիկայի նախարար Կախա Կալաձեն հայտարարել Է, որ իր զբաղեցրած պաշտոնները թողնում Է  հոկտեմբերի 8-ին երկրում կայանալիք խորհրդարանական ընտրություններին մասնակցելու կապակցությամբ:

«Այսօր ես թողնում եմ իմ զբաղեցրած պաշտոնները»,-հայտնել Է նա Թբիլիսիում կայացած ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ, որն անցկացվել Է Էներգետիկայի նախարարության շենքում: 

Կախա Կալաձեն փոխվարչապետի եւ Էներգետիկայի նախարարի պաշտոններն զբաղեցնում Էր 2012 թվականի հոկտեմբերի վերջից:

Ներկայում 38-ամյա քաղաքական գործիչը «Վրացական երազանք» կառավարող կուսակցության առաջատարներից մեկն Է եւ երկրորդն Է կուսակցական ցուցակում: Հոկտեմբերի 8-ի ընտրություններում «Վրացական երազանքից» պատգամավորների թեկնածուների ցուցակը գլխավորում Է վարչապետ Գեորգի Կվիրիկաշվիլին:

Նա շարունակում Է աշխատել իր պաշտոնում: Վրաստանի օրենսդրությանը համապատասխան, այն անձինք, ովքեր պաշտոններ են զբաղեցնում կառավարությունում եւ համապատասխան գերատեսչություններում, պարտավոր են իրենց զբաղեցրած պաշտոնները թողնել Կենտրոնական ընտրական հանձնաժողովում որպես խորհրդարանի պատգամավորի թեկնածու գրանցման հայտ ներկայացնելուց ոչ ուշ, քան երկու օր անց:

Ընտրություններից մի քանի ամիս առաջ Վրաստանի խորհրդարանը հաստատել Է Վրաստանի ընտրական օրենսգրքի այն փոփոխությունը, որը վարչապետին չի պարտավորեցնում պաշտոնաթող լինել բարձրագույն օրենսդիր մարմնի ընտրություններին մասնակցելու կապակցությամբ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
