Ֆլորա Զաբել՝ 20-րդ դարասկզբի Բրոդվեյի հայ աստղը... Ֆլորա Զաբել Մանգասարյան-Հիչքոկը ծնվել է 1880-ին՝ պոլսեցի գրող, աստվածաբան և փիլիսոփա Մանգասար Մանգասարյանի ընտանիքում: Հայերի դեմ սկսված հետապնդումների պատճառով Մանգասարյանները 1881 թ. Պոլսից տեղափոխվում են ԱՄՆ և հաստատվում Չիկագոյում: Զաբելի երազանքն էր դառնալ դերասանուհի, և 20 տարեկանում նա որոշում է մեկնել Նյու Յորք՝ նվաճելու Բրոդվեյը: Դերասանական և երաժշտական բացառիկ տաղանդը, գումարած արևելյան ինքնատիպ գեղեցկությունը շատ շուտով հաջողություն են բերում նրան բրոդվեյան ներկայացումներում:
1905-ին Ֆլորա Զաբել բեմական անունով կատակերգական ժանրի արդեն ճանաչված բրոդվեյան դերասանուհին ամուսնանում է հանրահայտ ամերիկյան դերասան, Բրոդվեյի թատրոնների աստղ Ռայմոնդ Հիչքոկի հետ: Ամուսնական զույգը ոչ միայն հաջողությամբ խաղում էր միասին թատրոնում, այլև համատեղ բեմադրություններ էր իրականացնում: Նշենք, որ Ֆլորա Զաբել Մանգասարյան-Հիչքոկը նաև առաջին կին աստղերից մեկը դարձավ ամերիկյան համր կինոյում՝ խաղալով մի քանի կատակերգական ֆիլմերում: Սակայն 1929 թ. ամուսնու մահից հետո նա սկսում է հազվադեպ երևալ բեմում և նկարահանվել կինոյում: Ֆլորա Զաբելը մահացել է 1968-ին՝ 88 տարեկան հասակում:
