Քանյեն վերջերս միջնամատ էր ցույց տվել եւ կոպտել Նյու Յորքի նորաձեւության շաբաթվա շրջանակներում իր ցուցադրությանքննադատներին։
«Ատում եմ նրանց գրածը, ես փորձել եմ հասկանալ այդ հոդվածները եւ այն հիմարությունը, որը գրում են քննադատները։ Ես ամբողջ սրտով փորձել եմ նրանց հասկանալ, բայց դա անհնար է»,– ասել էր Քանյեն վերջերս կայացած երեկույթի բեմից։
«Չեմ կարող ասել, որ ինչ–որ մեկը նորաձեւության աշխարհում հիմա իմ կողմից է։ Ես չեմ ասում, որ դա ինձ դուր է գալիս։ Նրանք ուղղակի ինձ չեն հասկանում։ Մինչեւ հիմա չեն հասկացել, թե ես ինչ եմ ուզում ասել։ Կհասկանան, երբ ես այլեւս չեմ լինի»,– հայտարարել է Քանյեն։
«Ինձ համար փողը դեռ չի նշանակում հաջողություն։ Մարդկանց ոգեշնչել, այ դա, իրոք, ընտիր է, ինչպես նաեւ ինչ–որ գործի ամբողջությամբ տրվելը։ Քեզ արդեն կարելի է գովել, եթե դու 39-ամյա սեւամորթ տղամարդ ես, ով հասկացել է ինքն իրեն եւ այդ մասին հայտարարում է ի լուր աշխարհի։ Հաջողությունը, իմ պատկերացմամբ, այն է, երբ դու կարող ես Թվիթերում ջնջել Չառլի Շինի մակարդակի մեկնաբանությունը եւ չմտածես այդ մասին»,– նշել է Քանյեն։
