Միջուկային զենքի համաշխարհային պաշարները գտնվում են վերջին կես դարի ընթացքում ամենացածր մակարդակում: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է Միջուկային զենքի չտարածման պայմանագրի իրագործման հարցի շուրջ Վաշինգտոնում կայացած յոթերորդ խորհրդաժողովի արդյունքների վրաբերյալ սեպտեմբերի 15-ին Պետդեպարտամենտի տարածած համատեղ հայտարարության մեջ: Դրան մասնակցել են հինգ միջուկային տերությունների՝ ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի մշտական անդամների (Ռուսաստան, Մեծ Բրիտանիա, Չինաստան, ԱՄՆ եւ Ֆրանսիա) ներկայացուցիչները:
«Հնգյակը նշում Է, որ միջուկային զենքի պաշարները ներկայում ամենացածր մակարդակում են գտնվում միջուկային զենք ունեցող պետությունների կողմից գործադրված աննախադեպ ջանքերի շնորհիվ»,- ասված Է հայտարարության մեջ:
Միջուկային տերությունները նաեւ «ընդգծել են միջուկային զինաթափման բնագավառում հետագա ջանքերի շարունակման, ինչպես նաեւ ընդհանուր եւ լիակատար զինաթափման անհրաժեշտությունը», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
