Լուսանկարիչ Լենարտ Նիլսոնը իր կյանքից 10 տարի նվիրել է մոր փորում գտնվող երեխայի՝ սաղմի զարգացումը նկարահանելուն։
Նիլսոնը առաջին անգամ ներկայացել է աշխարհին 1965 թվականին, երբ նա հրատարակեց սաղմի 16 լուսանկար «LIFE» պարբերականում։ Լուսանկարներն իսկական ֆուրոր առաջացրեցին ամողջ աշխարհում և գնվեցին գրեթե բոլոր անվանի պարբերականների կողմից։ Հետագայում Նիլսոնն օգտագործել է զանազան մանրադիտակներ, որպեսզի է՛լ ավելի լավ լուսանկարներ ստանա, և այժմ նա ավարտին է հասցրել իր աշխատանքը։

18-րդ օրից սկսվում է սաղմի սրտի զարգացումը
Բեղմնավորումից 28 օր անց
5 շաբաթ անց սաղմն արդեն 9մմ երկարություն ունի. այստեղ կարելի է նշմարել երեխայի բերանը, աչքերը և քթանցքերը
Զարգացման 40-րդ օրը
8 շաբաթ անց
10 շաբաթ. կոպերը գրեթե բացվել են, մի քանի օր անց դրանք ամբողջովին կկազմավորվեն
10-րդ շաբաթվա ընթացքում սաղմն արդեն օգտագործում է ձեռքերը՝ շրջական ուսումնասիրելու համար
16 շաբաթ անց
Երևում են երակները
18 շաբաթ. սաղմն արդեն կարողանում է լսել ձայներ
19 շաբաթ անց
20 շաբաթ. սաղմն արդեն 20սմ երկարություն ունի
24 շաբաթ
6 ամիս
32 շաբաթ. երեխան կծնվի մոտ 1 ամսից
Նիլսոնը 1965 թվականին հրատարակել է իր աշխատություններին վերաբերող գիրք՝«Երեխայի ծնունդը», որի բոլոր օրինակները վաճառվել են մի քանի օրվա ընթացքում։ Այն բազմիցս վերահրատարկվել է և մինչ օրս համարվում է լուսանկարչական արվեստը բնութագրող լավագույն գրքերից մեկը։
Լենարտ Նիլսոնն այժմ 91 տարեկան է և շարունակում է իր ֆենոմենալ կարիերան գիտական լուսանկարչության ասպարեզում։
