Ամուսնացած գործարարն աղջկան առաջարկեց միասին գիշերն անցկացնել 500 դոլարի դիմաց։
Առավոտյան նա ասաց, որ կանխիկ գումար չունի և աղջկան փող կուղարկի փոստով «բնակարանի վարձի» համար։
Գրասենյակ գնալու ճանապարհին տղամարդը փոշմանեց իր արածի համար։
Նա գիտացկեց, որ այդ ամենն այդքան թանկ չարժե և հրահանգեց քարտուղարին 250 դոլար ուղարկել աղջկան՝ բացատրական նամակով։
«Տիկին, ես ավելի քիչ գումար եմ ուղարկում, քան պայմանավորվել էինք, քանի որ բնակարանն իմ ակնկալիքները չարդարացրեց։ Իմ պահանջները հետևյալն էին՝
1․ բնակարանում մինչ այդ ոչ ոք պետք է չապրեր
2․ այնտեղ պետք է տաք լիներ
3․ պետք է փոքր լիներ, որպեսզի ես զգայի ինձ ինչպես տանը։
Իսկ ի՞նչ տեսա ես։ Բնակարանում մինչ այդ մարդիկ են բնակվել, այնտեղ ցուրտ էր և այն ուղղակի հսկայական էր»։
Նամակը կարդալով` աղջիկը վերադարձրեց գումարը և գրեց․
«Պարոն, նախ բնակարանում երկար ժամանակ ոչ մեկ չի բնակվել, երկրորդ, այն շատ տաք է։ Իսկ ինչ վերաբերվում է տարածքին, այն նախատեսված է միջին վիճակագարական մարդու հաար։ Եթե դուք բավականաչափ կահույք չունեք՝ այն լցնելու համար, պետք չէ մեղադրել ուրիշներին»։
