Հայաստանում մշտապես ակտուալ են եղել մենաշնորհների թեմայով քննարկումները: Տնտեսական բարեփոխումներ ասելով` որպես առաջնային խնդիր՝ շատերը դիտարկում են մենաշնորհի վերացումը: Եթե հուզական մոտեցումը մի կողմ դնենք, ապա մենաշնորհներն օրենքով արգելված չեն, և պետության առանաձնահատկությունից ու ոլորտից կախված՝ միշտ չէ, որ բացասական ազդեցություն ունեն: ՀՀ իրողություններով պայմանավորված՝ փոքր շուկա, շրջափակում, կոմունիկացիաների սահմանափակում, թանկ փոխադրումներ, որոշակի ոլորտներում կան մենաշնորհներ: Բնական է, որ այս պայմաններում գործում են այն ընկերությունները, որոնք ավելի մեծ հնարավորություններ ունեն:

Հնարավոր չէ պետական միջամտությամբ վերացնել որևէ մենաշնորհ, եթե այն չի խախտում օրենքը, տվյալ դեպքում՝ տնտեսական մրցակցության պաշտպանության մասին օրենքը, այսինքն՝ կազմակերպությունն այդ կարգավիճակը ձեռք է բերել շուկայական կանոնների պահպանմամբ, առավել արդյունավետ կառավարմամբ: Այլ հարց է, երբ մի կազմակերպություն չարաշահում է իր դիրքը և տարբեր միջոցներով թույլ չի տալիս, որպեսզի այլ ընկերություններ նույնպես մուտք գործեն այդ նույն շուկա: Այս դեպքում անշուշտ խախտվում է օրենք:

Պետությունը պարտավոր է ազատ և բարեխիղճ մրցակցության դաշտ ապահովել, բայց եթե ինչ-որ մեկը դուրս է մղվում բացառապես մրցակցության արդյունքում, այլ ոչ թե մենաշնորհ ունեցողի կողմից հակամրցակցային անօրինական գործողությունների պատճառով, ապա այստեղ արդեն պետությունն անելիք չունի:
