ՀՀ Անկախության տոնի առթիվ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների Նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման:
«Մեծարգո՛ Նախագահ,
Միացյալ Նահանգների անունից շնորհավորում եմ Ձեզ եւ Հայաստանի ժողովրդին անկախության 25-ամյակի կապակցությամբ, որը նշվում է սեպտեմբերի 21-ին:
Միացյալ Նահանգները հաստատուն եւ աներեր գործընկեր է եղել Հայաստանի համար՝ անկախության առաջին իսկ օրերից: Մենք շարունակում ենք հավատարիմ մնալ այդ օրերի խոստմանը, երբ հայերը 1920թ-ից ի վեր առաջին անգամ հպարտությամբ բարձրացրեցին իրենց եռագույն դրոշը: Այսօր մենք կրկին փաստում ենք մեր համոզմունքն առ այն, որ ապահով, բարեկեցիկ ու ժողովրդավարական Հայաստանը էական է հայ ժողովրդի եւ առավել լայն տարածաշրջանի անվտանգության համար:
Շնորհակալություն ենք հայտնում Հայաստանին մեր ընդհանուր նպատակներին աջակից լինելու համար, մասնավորապես՝ սիրիացի փախստականների ճգնաժամին արձագանքելու եւ գլոբալ խաղաղապահ գործողություններում ու միջուկային անվտանգության ասպարեզում ունեցած ներդրումների համար: Մենք կշարունակենք աշխատել միասին՝ օգնելու լիարժեք իրացնել Հայաստանի ողջ ներուժը:
